Job summary

TalentFish seeks an experienced Enterprise Security Architect to lead design, development, and evolution of enterprise cybersecurity architecture for a leading healthcare organization. You will partner with information security, enterprise architecture, and business stakeholders to ensure secure, scalable solutions aligned with goals.

The role drives security roadmaps, reduces risk, and influences investments while ensuring regulatory compliance and standards across the enterprise.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in IT/Engineering/Cybersecurity/CS or related field (or equivalent).
  • 9+ years advanced Information Security Engineering experience.
  • 4+ years in a Security Architect role.
  • 2+ years leading security project delivery including architecture & vendor engagement.
  • Experience developing enterprise cybersecurity strategy.
  • Experience mentoring junior technical staff.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain enterprise security architecture strategies aligning with business growth, security, risk, cost, and operations.
  • Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture, Security Engineering, Infrastructure, Application teams & stakeholders to design secure solutions.
  • Align cybersecurity architecture with business strategy and IT initiatives.
  • Evaluate existing systems to identify security, performance, and cost improvements.
  • Develop roadmaps supporting long-term cybersecurity strategy.
  • Research emerging threats and technologies to improve security posture.
  • Provide SME on enterprise security architecture and participate in strategic planning.
  • Communicate technical concepts to technical and executive audiences.
  • Mentor junior engineers and promote security best practices.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and related duties.

Location: Chicagoland based in Skokie IL with travel to Arlington Heights, Warrenville IL (Hybrid)
Job Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Compensation: Salary 140K – 185K base plus benefits – Compensation is based on experience, technical expertise, and qualifications.

Position Overview

TalentFish is seeking an experienced Enterprise Security Architect to lead the design, development, and evolution of enterprise cybersecurity architecture for a leading healthcare organization. This role partners closely with Information Security, Enterprise Architecture, Infrastructure, Application Engineering, and business stakeholders to ensure technology solutions are secure, scalable, and aligned with organizational objectives.

The Enterprise Security Architect plays a strategic role in evaluating existing technologies, developing future‑state security roadmaps, reducing organizational risk, and driving cybersecurity innovation across the enterprise. This individual will influence security investments, architecture standards, and technology decisions while ensuring alignment with business priorities and regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Minimum of 9 years of advanced Information Security Engineering experience.
  • Minimum of 4 years serving in a Security Architect role.
  • Minimum of 2 years leading security project delivery, including architecture, design, implementation, and vendor engagement.
  • Experience developing and contributing to enterprise cybersecurity strategy.
  • Experience mentoring or developing junior technical team members.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Industry certifications such as:
    • CISSP
    • CRISC
    • TOGAF
    • CCSP
    • SABSA
    • Microsoft SC-100
    • AWS Security or Solutions Architect certifications
  • Experience with security frameworks including:
    • HIPAA
    • NIST
    • PCI
    • ITIL
    • Secure SDLC
  • Previous healthcare industry experience.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise cybersecurity, regulatory compliance, risk management, and advanced threat landscapes.
  • Experience aligning business objectives with enterprise security strategy.
  • Expertise securing enterprise platforms using recognized security frameworks.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Demonstrated curiosity, innovation, accountability, and collaboration.

  • Communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical teams and executive leadership.
  • Mentor junior engineers and architects while promoting security best practices across the organization.
  • Participate in an on‑call rotation and perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

Compensation Information

The expected salary range for this position is (140K – 185K), depending on experience and qualifications.
