Position Summary:

The Texas Tech University System (TTUS) is seeking an experienced and highly qualified ERP Strategic Consultant to lead a comprehensive assessment of the current Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) ecosystem across all TTUS institutions. This engagement will evaluate existing Banner ERP instances, identify opportunities for modernization, and assist in the development and execution of two major Requests for Proposals (RFPs): one for selecting a modern ERP platform and another for identifying an implementation partner.

Key Responsibilities:ERP Current State Assessment

• Evaluate shared and stand-alone instances of Banner ERP used across TTUS institutions.
• Review third-party integrations, custom-developed solutions, and add-ons.
• Identify inefficiencies, scalability limitations, compliance risks, and gaps in functionality.
• Conduct interviews, surveys, and collaborative engagements with IT and business unit stakeholders.

Business Requirements & Future-State Design

• Facilitate stakeholder workshops to define functional and technical ERP needs across Student Information, HR, and Finance domains.
• Analyze strategic priorities, compliance mandates, and collaboration barriers between institutions.
• Develop a future-state ERP blueprint that considers unified functionality, scalability, and modernization strategies.

RFP Strategy and Execution

• Develop two separate RFPs:
• One to identify a best-fit ERP platform (cloud-native preferred).
• One to select an ERP implementation partner.
• Produce evaluation criteria, demonstration scripts, scoring methodologies, and vendor comparison reports.
• Guide component institutions through evaluation, selection, and recommendation phases.

Demonstrations & Selection Support

• Coordinate and script ERP vendor demonstrations.
• Facilitate scoring processes and lead executive-level debrief sessions.
• Assist with selection of down-selected ERP and implementation vendors.

Presentations & Reporting

• Deliver formal presentations and reports at key project milestones:
• Current State Findings
• Business Requirements Summary
• Future-State Design
• RFP Evaluation Reports
• Vendor Demonstration Results
• Final Recommendations
• Prepare executive-level briefing materials and professional-grade visuals.

Required Qualifications:

• Proven experience with ERP evaluations, selections, and implementations in complex higher education systems.
• Demonstrated ability to define functional and technical ERP requirements in student, HR, and finance domains.
• Strong background in managing multi-campus stakeholder engagement and facilitation.
• Familiarity with modern cloud ERP platforms and related integration strategies.
• Experience developing RFPs for both ERP systems and implementation partners.
• Ability to communicate clearly with executives and operational stakeholders.
• Skilled in developing structured project plans and tracking deliverables, risks, and timelines.
• Understanding of compliance frameworks such as FERPA, HIPAA, and Texas state policies.
• Willingness and ability to travel for periodic on-site meetings across TTUS campuses.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Texas state government RFP processes and legislative funding initiatives.
• Prior engagements with ERP transitions from Ellucian Banner to modern cloud-native systems (e.g., Workday, Oracle Cloud, Anthology, etc.).
• Track record in resolving inter-institutional alignment challenges and delivering consensus-based outcomes.
