Job summary

Penn State University is seeking a Release Manager for the Enterprise CRM Program Team to orchestrate software releases across development, testing, and production. This role merges DevOps practices with project management to ensure reliable deployments for the university community.

Qualifications

• Experience with software development lifecycle and release management practices.
• Familiarity with waterfall and agile development methodologies.
• Proven ability to own end-to-end software releases across multiple environments.
• Experience coordinating releases across development, testing/UAT, staging, and production environments.
• Salesforce-specific release management experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms, including AWS and/or Azure.
• Proficiency with Azure DevOps or a comparable CI/CD tool.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain release management strategy and roadmap.
• Coordinate release schedules across multiple teams and projects.
• Define release criteria, processes, and approval workflows.
• Establish and monitor service level agreements for release activities.
• Deploy and maintain enterprise DevOps services to streamline releases.
• Enhance automation across the CI/CD pipeline.
• Maintain deployment automation tools and processes.
• Ensure environment traceability across the release lifecycle.
• Serve as point of contact for purchased DevOps and backup tools.
• Maintain disaster recovery plans and support business continuity efforts.
