Position Summary

The Energy Engineer I provides technical support to Franklin Energy and AM Conservation operations, assisting in project management, system design, and program rollout. The role involves collaborating with internal teams and clients to resolve technical issues, support new program launches, and contribute to system migrations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Collaborate with stakeholders to provide energy efficiency advice and support program participation.
  2. Identify and document on-site energy-saving opportunities during building design and construction.
  3. Participate in quality assurance, internal audits, and utility bill analysis.
  4. Promote energy efficiency measures to property managers and owners.
  5. Prepare reports, presentations, and technical documentation.
  6. Discuss technical aspects of building systems and their impact on energy consumption.
  7. Manage data entry and analysis for project tracking and savings calculations.
  8. Support program strategy and stay updated on new energy-saving technologies.
  9. Serve as a technical resource within the team and ensure safety and compliance policies are followed.
Additional Responsibilities

Support large-scale program reviews, develop proficiency in company technology platforms, assist in program startup activities, and contribute to training and documentation efforts.

Position Requirements

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or Industrial).
  • 1-3 years engineering experience related to energy modeling or design.
  • 1-2 years in the energy efficiency industry.
  • Preferred: experience in building design, green construction, and certifications like CEM, LEED AP, PE, or FE.

Skills & Attributes:

  • Understanding of building systems and energy consumption.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and energy efficiency databases.
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks.
  • Commitment to diversity, inclusion, and reliable transportation.
Licenses & Certifications
  • CEM, F.E., or equivalent certifications are preferred.
Travel Requirements
  • Willingness to travel less than 50%.
