Job summary

FirstKey Homes LLC is seeking an Enterprise Network Engineer to design and operate the company’s global network across corporate offices, cloud environments and remote users. This hands-on engineering role focuses on secure, resilient, high-performing connectivity and standards-based modernization.

The role covers LAN/WAN/WLAN, SASE/SD-WAN, NAC and Azure networking, requiring collaboration with Infrastructure Operations and Cybersecurity to ensure security, performance and high availability.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in enterprise networks.
• Strong knowledge of Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking fundamentals.
• Hands-on experience with enterprise routing and switching.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, Wireless & RADIUS Auth, VLANs, Spanning Tree, Link Aggregation, BGP and OSPF, DNS and DHCP, NAT, VPN, QoS, Network Segmentation & Access Control.
• Experience troubleshooting complex network and application connectivity issues.
• Strong experience supporting firewalls, SD-WAN/SASE, Software-Defined Networking.
• Experience in managing cloud-based networks such as within Microsoft Azure.
• Strong experience in working with Cisco Catalyst & Meraki.
• Experience implementing and managing Access Control solutions.
• CCNP or equivalent demonstrated enterprise networking knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, maintain and troubleshoot enterprise LAN, WAN, WLAN and Internet connectivity.
• Manage enterprise routing and switching infrastructure; primarily Cisco Catalyst.
• Configure and troubleshoot VLANs, trunking, spanning tree, link aggregation, routing protocols, ACLs and network segmentation.
• Maintain high-availability in network connectivity across corporate and cloud networks.
• Perform network capacity planning, performance analysis and proactive improvement.
• Develop and maintain network diagrams, standards, configuration documentation and operational procedures.
• Administer and optimize the organization’s SASE environment.
• Support secure remote access, internet and cloud connectivity through the SASE platform.
• Troubleshoot routing, application performance, connectivity and policy issues across the WAN.
• Assist with continued migration from traditional network architecture toward SASE and a zero-trust model.
• Lead or significantly contribute to NAC implementation and administration.
• Develop an optimized network segmentation and access-control strategy for all corporate device classes.
• Implement and maintain 802.1X and related authentication technologies where applicable.
• Partner with Cybersecurity to implement network security policies, vulnerability remediation and network infrastructure hardening.
• Configure, maintain and troubleshoot enterprise wireless networks.
• Perform wireless performance analysis and assist with RF optimization, coverage capacity and troubleshooting roaming issues.
• Configure and troubleshoot VNets, subnets, routing, NSGs, VPN connectivity and related Azure networking services.
• Support connectivity between cloud resources, corporate networks, remote users and applicable third-party environments.
• Collaborate with Systems and Cloud Engineering teams on infrastructure projects requiring network design or connectivity.
• Serve as an escalation point for complex network incidents and performance issues.
• Perform packet captures, traffic analysis and systemic troubleshooting of network and application connectivity.
• Participate in root-cause analysis for significant infrastructure incidents.
• Monitor network health, availability, utilization and performance.

The Enterprise Network Engineer will design and operate FirstKey Homes’s enterprise network infrastructure across corporate locations, cloud environments and remote users. This is a hands-on engineering role responsible for maintaining a secure, resilient and high performing network environment. The ideal candidate has strong experience with enterprise routing and switching, network security, wireless infrastructure, cloud networking and modern SASE/SD-WAN technologies.

The Enterprise Network Engineer will serve as a senior technical resource within Infrastructure Operations, carrying out network-focused projects, troubleshoot complex issues and help establish standards and best practices as the organization continues to modernize.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Design, configure, maintain and troubleshoot enterprise LAN, WAN, WLAN and Internet connectivity
• Manage enterprise routing and switching infrastructure; primarily Cisco Catalyst
• Configure and troubleshoot VLANs, trunking, spanning tree, link aggregation, routing protocols, ACLs and network segmentation
• Maintain high-availability in network connectivity across corporate and cloud networks

  • Support secure remote access, internet and cloud connectivity through the SASE platform
  • Troubleshoot routing, application performance, connectivity and policy issues across the WAN
  • Assist with continued migration from traditional network architecture toward SASE and a zero-trust model
• Network Access Control & Network Security
  • Lead or significantly contribute to the ongoing implementation and administration of Network Access Control (NAC)
  • Develop an optimized network segmentation and access-control strategy for all corporate device classes
  • Implement and maintain 802.1X and related authentication technologies where applicable
  • Partner with Cybersecurity to implement network security policies, vulnerability remediation and network infrastructure hardening

WORKING CONDITIONS

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Minimum 5+ years of professional experience in managing enterprise-scale global networks
• Strong knowledge of Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking fundamentals
• Hands-on experience with enterprise routing and switching
• Strong understanding of:
