Oracle Corporation’s India Development Center is seeking a Linux Kernel Engineer to develop, maintain, and secure the kernel software powering Oracle Linux infrastructure. You will investigate complex issues, review changes, backport fixes, and collaborate with engineers across regions to improve reliability, performance, and security.

The role emphasizes solving deep systems problems, contributing to robust kernel deployments, and delivering patches in a timely manner for cloud-scale workloads.

Formación

• Strong proficiency in C and practical experience developing or maintaining Linux kernel software.
• Solid understanding of memory management, concurrency, synchronization, and process scheduling.
• Experience diagnosing complex systems issues using crash dumps, logs, tracing, and debugging tools.
• Familiarity with kernel patch review, backporting, testing, and regression analysis.
• Experience using Git and collaborating on large codebases.

Responsabilidades

• Develop, patch, test, and maintain Linux kernel code and patches.
• Review kernel changes for correctness, performance, and regression risk.
• Assess and backport security fixes, including CVEs, and validate changes.
• Investigate kernel crashes and production issues using debugging tools.
• Collaborate with cross-regional teams to prioritize and resolve issues.
