Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation in El Segundo, CA (onsite) is seeking an Engineering Specialist-Signal & Image Processing and Modeling & Simulation. You will lead modeling and simulation tasks for space/air/ground systems, engage with program offices, and develop analyses to support end-to-end mission effectiveness.

Requirements include a engineering degree and 8+ years of multi-disciplinary engineering experience, plus proficiency in Python and C++.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (aerospace, astronautical, mechanical, or software), computer science, physics, operations research, or closely related technical field from an accredited school.
  • 8+ years of progressively responsible engineering/scientific experience in multi-disciplinary environments.
  • Technical understanding of space operations, red vs blue simulations, military utility/capability drawdown, kill chain, enterprise architecture resiliency, and/or C2.
  • Advanced experience with Python and C++.
  • Demonstrated creativity, initiative, and self-motivation.
  • Ability to work on dynamic assignments and adapt to changing customer expectations.
  • Collaboration across organizational boundaries to drive end-to-end solutions.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written/oral communication skills.
  • U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain Top Secret/SCI clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with cross-mission program offices and customers to translate needs into modeling, simulation, and analysis tasks.
  • Represent CMED as a technical authority in areas of expertise.
  • Independently lead and contribute to technical analysis projects to ensure timely, accurate deliveries.
  • Apply expertise in understanding, modeling, and analyzing enterprise-level missions.
  • Develop and present briefings and reports for program offices and customers.
  • Mentor junior staff and contribute to a learning environment.

The Enterprise Effects Division (EED) drives integration of Aerospace’s strategic capabilities across the national space enterprise. The divisionleveragesa broad array of engineering disciplines against a dynamic portfolio of programs, customers, and national challenges.

EED spans the capability lifecycle from concept and architecture design to performance assessment to application of space-enabled mission effects.

The Cross-Mission Effectiveness Department (CMED) in the Integrated Performance Subdivision leads integration and application of modeling and simulation capabilities and modern analysis workflows to support end-to-end effects chain analysis and space and space-enabled campaign modeling. As a member ofCMED, you willprovidetechnical capabilities to support our customers in modeling, simulation, and analysis (MS&A) of space, air, and ground-based systems of systems to investigate architecture and concept of operations (CONOPS) performance in nominal and contested operating environments. MS&A focus areas include agent-based modeling, red vs blue simulations, militaryutilityand capability drawdown,killchaineffectiveness, enterprise architecture resiliency, and command and control (C2) evaluation. We support a variety of customers with diverse program portfolios, and we are looking for curious and innovative teammates to help us address our customers’ hardest problems!

WhatYou’llBe Doing

What You Need to be Successful–Engineering Specialist-Signal & Image Processing and Modeling & Simulation Engineering

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor'sdegree inengineering (aerospace, astronautical, mechanical, or software), computer science, physics, operations research, or closely related technical field from an accredited school.
  • 8 more years of increasingly responsible professional engineering/scientific experience, including multi-disciplinary systems engineering and/or program management environments.

  • This position requires ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the US government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a Top Secret/SCIClearance.

Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skills.
