Job description

About BKV Corporation

Job Description BKV Corporation (NYSE: BKV) is a forward-thinking, growth-driven energy company building the future of low-carbon energy and reliable baseload power. Headquartered in Denver, Colorado, we are the largest natural gas producer by gross operated volume in the Barnett Shale — and we’re just getting started.

Organization and Approach

At BKV, we don’t just operate assets — we build integrated solutions. Our end-to-end, closed-loop energy platform spans upstream production, midstream infrastructure, natural gas-fired power generation, and carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS). This differentiated model allows us to solve our customers’ toughest energy challenges while meeting growing power demand and advancing a carbon-neutral future. We are a fast-paced, high-performance team of go-getters who thrive on challenge and think beyond convention. We push the envelope on innovation, continuously optimizing and scaling our platform to drive sustainable growth and long-term, risk-adjusted shareholder value. At BKV, you won’t just contribute — you’ll lead, create, and shape the future of energy.

Role Overview

The Enterprise Architect defines and evolves BKV’s enterprise technology strategy to support a cloud-first, acquisition-driven energy production business. This role shapes scalable, secure, and cost-effective platforms that enable growth, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and repeatable integration of acquired entities. This position establishes architecture standards and governance, aligns business priorities with technology execution, and partners across corporate, operational, and field environments to drive consistent, high-quality delivery. It is a hands‑on strategic role that blends enterprise-level vision with practical architecture and delivery support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead cloud-first architecture strategy (Azure/AWS/Google), ensuring scalability, resilience, and cost optimization.
  • Define enterprise application strategy (ERP, land systems, accounting, SCADA/OT integration, regulatory systems).
  • Lead master data and data governance strategy.
  • Promote API-first and integration-platform strategies.
  • Support analytics, reporting, and operational data visibility initiatives.
  • Drive lifecycle management and cloud cost governance.
  • Ensure architecture aligns with regulatory and compliance requirements (SOX, SOC 2, NERC CIP where applicable).
  • Reduce enterprise risk through modernization and standardization.
  • Support budgeting and long-range technology planning.
  • Provide guidance on emerging technologies relevant to oil & gas (automation, AI, digital field, predictive maintenance).
  • Lead IT due diligence for acquisitions.
  • Assess application portfolios, infrastructure posture, security risks, and integration complexity.
  • Develop integration roadmaps to rapidly onboard acquired companies into corporate platforms.
  • Drive system consolidation, identity integration, data integration, and cost synergies and cost savings.
  • Cloud platform architecture expertise in at least one major provider (Azure or AWS preferred), including landing zones, networking, identity, and resiliency patterns.
  • Security-by-design knowledge (IAM, segmentation, encryption, logging/monitoring) and ability to partner with security teams to implement controls and reduce risk.
  • Application and SaaS evaluation skills (ERP/finance, HRIS, CRM), including fit-gap analysis, vendor due diligence, and total cost of ownership.
  • Integration architecture experience (API-first, eventing, ETL/ELT, iPaaS/middleware) and ability to define reusable patterns and integration governance.
  • Data architecture and governance fundamentals, including master data concepts, data quality, lineage, and reporting/analytics enablement.
  • Working knowledge of OT/IT integration considerations (e.g., SCADA/historians, network segmentation, availability/safety constraints) in asset-intensive environments.
  • Experience supporting acquisitions and integrations (due diligence inputs, Day 1/Day 2 planning, and repeatable onboarding playbooks).
  • Experience building architecture function from the ground up.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • ~10+ years of progressive IT experience across infrastructure, applications, and/or data domains.
  • ~5+ years in enterprise, solution, or platform architecture roles, delivering standards, reference architectures, and roadmaps.
  • ~ Experience in oil & gas, energy, or asset-intensive industries.
  • ~ TOGAF, Azure/AWS Architect, CISSP (or similar).
