Job summary

Leidos is seeking an experienced Firewall Engineering Architect to provide senior-level technical leadership for NASA's enterprise security and network modernization initiatives.

You will lead the Firewall Engineering Architecture Team, shaping strategy for firewall, IDS/IPS, and perimeter security across LAN, WAN, Mission Network, and cloud-connected environments. Strong leadership and architectural expertise are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• 8-12 years of experience in enterprise network security or firewall engineering, with 8-10 years in senior roles.
• Proven experience designing and managing large-scale firewall and perimeter security infrastructures.
• Deep expertise with next-generation firewall platforms and enterprise-grade security services.
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Firewall Engineering Architecture Team and provide technical direction.
• Define enterprise firewall architecture strategy aligned with zero-trust and risk management.
• Act as senior technical authority for firewall, perimeter security, and cross-domain issues.
• Develop modernization roadmaps, standards, and automation initiatives.
• Oversee large-scale migrations, data center and cloud integrations, and segmentation.
• Collaborate on proposals, BOEs, and technical volumes with NASA and Leidos leadership.
• Drive innovation in firewall automation, orchestration, and cloud-native security.
• Establish governance for rule validation, configuration baselines, and monitoring.
• Mentor engineers and build training pipelines for the discipline.
• Deliver data-driven technical briefings to NASA and Leidos executives.
