Surge seeks a Forward Deployed Engineer to fuse engineering excellence with client success, partnering with strategic enterprise customers. You will own technical onboarding, translate customer requirements into scalable product solutions, and ship production-grade software using the same stack as the core engineering team.

Experience with Retrieval-Augmented Generation is highly valued. You will work closely with senior stakeholders, shaping product direction through direct customer engagement

Qualifications

• 2–8 years in high-growth startups.
• Strong full-stack software engineering experience.
• Hands-on with AWS, Go, React, and TypeScript.
• Experience building or integrating Retrieval-Augmented Generation pipelines.
• Ability to work with enterprise customers and senior stakeholders.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Balance customer engagement with hands-on engineering responsibilities.
• Translate customer requirements into scalable tech solutions.

Responsibilities

• Partner with strategic enterprise customers and support product implementations.
• Own technical onboarding with the Customer Success team.
• Develop AI-powered capabilities, prototyping and integrating RAG pipelines.
• Visit customers to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Ship production software using the same stack as the core team.
• Create scalable solutions addressing customer needs while strengthening the product roadmap.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and customer-facing teams.
• Communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Identify recurring customer needs for the core product roadmap.
