Job description

***This is a fully remote position that can be based anywhere in the United States, although preference is for Midwest or West-based individuals; this position will require approximately 60% travel.***

The role is part of Terumo Health Outcomes (THO), a business unit of Terumo Medical Corporation, that works with providers to optimize their care delivery while also improving patient satisfaction and outcomes. THO is a strategic business partner that provides healthcare systems with solutions to reduce care variation, improve quality metrics, minimize costs, and maximize revenue—enabling them to achieve enhanced performance.

Job Summary:

Responsible for selling and promoting Terumo Health Outcomes (THO) products to health systems, hospitals, outpatient facilities including Office Based Labs (OBL), and Ambulatory Surgery Centers (ASC) within a defined geographic territory to achieve sales revenue targets. This role involves sales and market development across various settings, developing rapport with key decision-makers, penetrating accounts at the executive level, developing business plans, identifying opportunities, and working with sales and marketing management to increase sales and visibility. The ideal candidate has strong sales, negotiation, and closing skills with experience in a maturing organization.

  • Call on current and potential customers to promote and sell THO products and services to meet sales targets.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to target customers, understand needs, overcome objections, and secure commitments.
  • Conduct product presentations and educate customers on product features and care pathways.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of Terumo’s solutions and their appropriate usage.
  • Support clinical procedures where clinical decision support pathways are deployed.
  • Maintain existing business and develop new opportunities.
  • Respond quickly to competitive threats and communicate market intelligence to leadership.
  • Build and maintain customer relationships through visits and calls.
  • Conduct in-services to educate on proper product use.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • File reports and document activities accurately in the CRM system.
  • Attend trade shows and conventions to promote THO solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with all quality and regulatory standards, including FDA, AdvaMed, and Terumo policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions:

  • Regular overnight travel within the US and North America; occasional weekend travel.
  • Access to hospitals and medical facilities, adhering to credentialing policies.
  • Ability to work in sterile environments, including IR suites, Cath labs, and ORs, with appropriate gowning and safety protocols.

Position Requirements:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Understanding of healthcare operations, quality improvement, and decision-making processes.
  • Knowledge of cardiovascular service lines, quality and financial metrics.
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts effectively.
  • Experience in analytical methodologies and team management.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work independently and cross-functionally.
  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 8 years of healthcare sales experience, preferably in software, capital equipment, or consulting.
  • Experience with CVSL, Cath Lab, OR sales, and client relationship management.
  • Proven success in complex sales cycles with executive stakeholders.
  • Valid driver’s license and personal vehicle with insurance.
