Job summary

A Houston-based DevOps Engineer role focuses on sustaining and supporting enterprise-grade platforms, collaborating with business and technical teams to resolve issues and automate processes. You will manage builds, deployments, patches, and containerized delivery while supporting multi-tier environments and high availability.

The position requires 5+ years in application support and 3+ years in DevOps practices, with strong scripting, CI/CD, and database skills.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant experience with application support and development
• 3+ years of experience using DevOps practices, tools, and frameworks
• Experience supporting multi-tiered environments using Linux, Windows Server, AD, SQL and load balancing
• Ability to identify software enhancements, analyze user needs, and suggest improvements to business processes
• Quick learner with new skills and technologies
• Experience with CI tools such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitHub Enterprise
• Experience with build/dependency tools like Maven, Gradle, or Ant
• Scripting experience (PowerShell, Groovy, Python, Bash, JavaScript)
• Source control experience (Git or SVN)
• Experience with MS T-SQL or PL/SQL

Responsibilities

• Provide direct technical assistance to key business users and support vendor and custom applications
• Maintain build processes, deployment strategies, and process automation
• Install and coordinate patches and releases across development, test, and production systems
• Improve application delivery using containers, orchestration, and configuration management tools
• Assist business teams and vendors with application installations and upgrades
• Support and maintain application infrastructure including servers, network topology, authentication, and high availability
• Administer segregation of duties support - manage server access, accounts, audit controls, and reports
• Stay current on technologies, recommend strategies and tools
• Coordinate and facilitate meetings, documenting key decisions, risks, and issues
• Work independently with ownership over all applications and responsibilities
• Provide after-hours support for business-critical projects and tasks
