Job summary

The University of Texas at San Antonio is seeking an Enterprise Database Specialist to oversee development, utilization, and maintenance of institutional databases across multiple platforms. You will design, test, administer, and report on database procedures, supporting university-wide deployments and data integrity.

You will collaborate with technology staff to identify data relationships, ensure security, and maintain backups, recovery, and documentation.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field.
Five (5) years of related work experience, including experience with Ellucian Banner.
This position requires the ability to maintain the security and integrity of UT San Antonio and its infrastructure.

Responsibilities

Supports departmental operations in a high-production environment by proactively managing the performance, integrity, and security of institutional databases and systems (e.g., SIS).
Collaborates with the technical lead to advise management on university database and technology matters supporting faculty, staff, and students.
Assists with setting up, monitoring, and maintaining disaster recovery solutions for enterprise production databases.
Manages tests and provides support to multiple enterprise-wide database systems and applications.
Designs, creates, installs, and maintains highly available and secure enterprise database instances, including backups, objects, and procedures for enterprise applications.
