Job summary

Samsung SDS America, Inc. is seeking an experienced Database Administrator to manage, optimize, and secure enterprise databases with a focus on data protection for PII.

You will ensure high availability, performance, and data integrity across MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and Oracle environments. You will implement encryption strategies (TDE, column-level), manage keys with enterprise KMS/HSM, and collaborate with security and development teams to enforce controls and compliance with GDPR,

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Database Administrator or in a closely related role.
• Strong hands-on experience with SQL Server and PostgreSQL.
• Experience implementing database encryption technologies (e.g., TDE, column‑level encryption).
• Experience with enterprise Key Management Systems (KMS) and HSM integrations.
• Ability to design and support backup, recovery, DR, and high availability environments.
• Knowledge of database security, access controls, auditing, and data protection best practices.
• Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, and CCPA.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain enterprise relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle).
• Monitor performance and health; tune queries, indexes, and storage for efficiency.
• Manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies to ensure business continuity.
• Maintain highly available environments through replication, clustering, and failover.
• Collaborate with developers on schema design and query optimization.
• Support security investigations and incident response related to database security.
