The role emphasizes protecting PII through encryption, access controls, and other data protection technologies. The ideal candidate combines traditional DBA expertise with a strong understanding of database security to ensure highly available, compliant, and protected systems against evolving threats.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience as a Database Administrator or similar role.
• Experience with enterprise relational databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL).
• Experience implementing encryption technologies (TDE, column-level, etc.).
• Experience with enterprise key management and data protection practices.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, administer, and maintain enterprise relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle).
• Monitor performance, tune queries, and manage backups, DR, and high availability.
• Enforce encryption, access controls, and data masking for PII.
• Collaborate with security/compliance teams to meet GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, CCPA requirements.
