Job summary

AbbVie seeks an Enterprise Data Operations Senior Manager to lead a team of platform engineers and oversee multiple infrastructure platforms. You will drive lifecycle roadmaps, budget planning, and security compliance while partnering with IT stakeholders to deliver priority projects.

The role requires strong leadership, cloud and data security expertise, and proven ability to interface with upper management to articulate architectural decisions and strategies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of IT leadership experience or higher degrees with corresponding years.
• Experience screening talent and clearly defining delivery expectations.
• Previous leadership of IT engineers and enterprise infrastructure.
• Experience with IT audits and security implications.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms and encryption/data movement.
• Ability to discuss architectural trade-offs with engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of eight platform engineers across enterprise IT platforms.
• Oversee service-provider operational activities and lifecycle roadmaps.
• Ensure compliance, change control, and security requirements.
• Present KPIs and updates to upper management.
• Develop annual budget, licensing chargebacks, and renewals.
• Drive new system capabilities and process improvements.

TheEnterprise Data Operations Senior Manager will leadimplementation,support,andlifecycle initiatives forIT platforms used across different business organizations and manufacturing sites. This leader will partner closely with other IT infrastructure groupsto achieve operation excellence and withBusiness ITcustomersto deliver on priority projects. You willmanagea team ofeightplatform engineers,tackle complex challenges as you develop, and diversify your professional experiences while helping others grow and develop their skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of eight highly skilled platform engineers supporting eleven infrastructure enterprise platforms.
• Oversee operational activitiesperformedby service providers.
• Drive platform lifecycle roadmaps and capacity management plans.
• Ensure allinfrastructure platformsmeet compliance, change,andsecurityrequirements.
• Formulate responses to audit inquiries.
• Manage renewals for infrastructure platforms.
• Support the development ofan annualbudgetand complete licensing chargebacks.
• Define strategies for introducing new system capabilities and processes.
• Frequently present KPIs and operational updates to upper management
• Guide cross-functional teams in deliveringnewplatform andautomationcapabilities thatstreamline work processes.

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelors Degree with 8 years' experience OR Master's Degree with 7 years' experience OR PhD with 3 years' experience
• Demonstrableexpertiseinscreeningnew talentand managing technical resources, clearly definingexpectations for delivery and performance
• Previousexperience managing a team of IT engineers
• Previousexperience supportingan enterprise infrastructureplatform
• New solution prototyping,implementation,and awareness of security implications
• Previousexperience with IT audits
• Strong software engineering background
• Understanding ofplatform engineering, cloud platforms, infrastructure as a service, anduserexperience.
• Understanding ofAWS infrastructure, networking concepts, and troubleshooting (firewalls, load balancers,etc.)
• Proven ability to engage engineering teams as a technical peercan discuss architectural trade-offs, evaluate technical debt, and contribute to design discussions.
• Strong presentation skills. Ability to effectively summarize technical projects for uppermanagement.
• Understanding ofencryption andsecure data movement

Preferred

• ServiceNow CMDB and ticketing systems
• Prior experienceidentifyingautomation opportunities andsuccessfully deploying production-ready solutions
