Job Summary:

Everest is seeking an Enterprise Data Management Lead to join the Everest Information Technology Data & Analytics Shared Services team, located at the US headquarters in Warren, New Jersey.

This is a hybrid position working 3 days onsite, 2 remote. May consider remote candidates based in the New York, Connecticut or Pennsylvania area but must be able to commute to the Warren, NJ office at least once per month.

This role will be responsible for leading data management initiatives collaborating across business, IT, and data governance teams. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in configuring and implementing Collibra products, established track record of building high-quality data governance and data quality solutions with a strong hands-on design and engineering skills. The candidate must also possess strong analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Deliver data governance and data quality initiatives and capabilities and ensure the solutions that are delivered meet high standards for quality, performance, and scale.
  • Lead data governance, data quality platforms and ensure they are designed, modeled, implemented, and maintained effectively. Cultivate and maintain deep knowledge of technology tools and products to ensure utilization of the latest capabilities provided by vendor products.
  • Collaborate with business, IT, and data governance teams to understand and translate metadata, data lineage, data cataloging and data quality requirements into technical solutions.
  • Work with the business stakeholders and Data & Analytics leadership to develop roadmap, demonstrate thought leadership, and capitalize on technology advances.
  • Propose and implement technical improvements to enhance data governance, quality, reliability, and consistency across IT systems. and drive continuous technology transformation and minimize technical debt.
  • Establish strong delivery practices to ensure reusability of common patterns and publish standards and best practices.
  • Mentor and coach engineering team to increase skill levels. Provide technical expertise and support to business users and IT teams on data management standards and best practices.
  • Design and implement data governance, data quality workflows, scorecards, and dashboards in Collibra.
  • Collaborate with data engineers and architects to implement data quality solutions within data pipelines and data warehouses.
  • Educate and train business and IT stakeholders on data management capabilities and solutions.


Qualifications, Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree (required) or master’s degree (preferred) in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 7-10+ years of overall technology experience in architecture, design, engineering, and implementing technology solutions and services.
  • 5+ years of successful team leadership experience at an enterprise level within a company or as a consultant
  • 5+ years of deep data governance and data quality experience including engineering practices, tools, and standards.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability and interest in mentoring technical staff and raising our collective technical competencies. coupled with a desire to continually expand personal knowledge/skills.
  • Self-starter with strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Domain knowledge of the Insurance Industry (preferably P&C) as well as the technologies and solutions relevant to this industry is desired.
  • Recent experience working in a Scaled Agile environment with Agile tools, e.g. Jira, Confluence, etc.


Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:

  • Deep expertise in Collibra platform including Data Governance and Data Quality.
  • In-depth knowledge of data governance principles, data stewardship processes, data quality concepts, data profiling and validation methodologies, techniques, and best practices.
  • Hands-on experience in implementing and configuring Collibra Data Governance, Collibra Data Quality, including developing metadata ingestion, data quality rules, scorecards, and workflows.
  • Strong experience in configuring and connecting to various data sources for metadata, data lineage, data profiling and data quality.
  • Experience integrating data management capabilities (MDM, Reference Data)
  • Good experience with Azure cloud services, Azure Data technologies and Databricks
  • Solid understanding of relational database concepts and ETL processes.
  • Proficient use of tools, techniques, and manipulation including programming languages (Python, PySpark, SQL etc.), for data profiling, and validation.
  • Data modeling with tools like Erwin and knowledge of insurance industry standards (e.g., ACORD) and insurance data (policy, claims, underwriting, etc.).
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools like Power BI.


For NY Only: The base salary range for this position is $135,000 - $175,000 annually. The offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, experience, qualifications and work location.
