Job summary

Integral is seeking a Data/Integration Architect to shape enterprise data architecture and integration strategy across VA programs. You will design data models, pipelines, and integration patterns that ensure secure, scalable data exchange and compliance with VA EA, security mandates, and ASG.

The role requires 10+ years in data architecture, experience with REST/JSON, cloud integrations, and collaboration across Product Lines and Scrum teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or IT required.
• 10+ years' experience designing and implementing data pipelines and integration patterns across multiple platforms.
• Experience producing Solution Architecture Packages, dependency maps, and AoA.
• Experience integrating data and services into enterprise cloud platforms (VAEC / BIP).
• Experience supporting compliance artifacts (ATO docs, VASI inventory, data governance).
• Experience in Agile (Scrum/SAFe), PI Planning, backlog strategy, cross-team alignment.
• Expertise in data modeling, ETL/ELT pipelines, data orchestration, performance optimization.
• Strong knowledge of data governance, metadata management, lineage tracking, and authoritative data integration.
• Experience with REST services and JSON data format.
• Ability to collaborate across Product Lines and Scrum teams for architectural consistency.
• Public Trust experience or clearance is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Designs data models, pipelines, and integration patterns ensuring secure, reliable, scalable data exchange across VA systems.
• Develop enterprise data models, including conceptual, logical, and physical, aligned with VA EA standards.
• Design and implement data pipelines across VA systems, internal APIs, and external partners.
• Document and maintain Solution Architecture Packages, Data Dictionaries, and Data Models for VA review.
• Ensure all integrations comply with VA EA, security mandates, NIST, and ASG.
