Essential Job Statements
Implement the data governance program vision using Data Governance technology, promoting the role of governance and enforcing policy, while following data governance best practices.
Provide authority for all Data Governance oversight and support for Asset Management to ensure awareness across the organization and to drive decisions for data standards and policies.
Understand various data storage solutions, including extract, load and transform technologies built using Lakehouse architecture, working with the Data Engineering team as needed.
Create the processes, policies, and standards organizations use to manage their data, and ensure compliance with internal and external regulations and requirements.
Develop and communicate Data Governance policies to all relevant stakeholders, and design and maintain a curriculum for coaching and training data consumers on data governance standards, policies and compliance.
Collaborate with data engineers, data scientists, and business units to help solve their analytical needs while ensuring data quality and consistency.
Socialize and Educate data governance policies and practices across the organization.
Stand up necessary organizational support structure to facilitate and proliferate the Data Governance Program.
Design and oversee the processes, policies, and standards organizations use to manage their data, and ensure compliance with internal and external regulations and requirements.
Development and implement standards and practices of data quality, security, stewardship, accountability and ownership across the enterprise - developing and maintaining data definitions and data quality standards that provide trusted insights.
Mentor junior Data Governance Analysts.
Develop and maintain business glossaries, data catalog, data lineage, data profile, metadata, and reference and master data management.
Conduct research and make recommendations on products, tools, services, protocols and standards in support of enterprise data governance strategy.

Required Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, IT, Math, Data Analytics, Engineering, or related discipline

Minimum Qualifications
Years and Type of Required Experience: 8+ years in Data Governance/Management. 5+ years SQL experience. 5+ years Healthcare domain experience
Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: Knowledge of modern data architecture, platforms, and frameworks; including data modeling, data ingestion, data pipelines (ETL/ELT) required. In-depth experience in Data Governance Policies, tools, best practices. Extensive experience using Data Governance technology platforms such as Microsoft Purview or Databricks Unity Catalog. Proven experience in data quality management, including the development and implementation of data quality standards, processes, and procedures. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work cross-functionally (Required proficiency). Experience utilizing Agile methodology. Ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical personas and make complex ideas understood. Demonstrate the ability to work well with others and exhibit leadership and ownership. Organizationally savvy, with a good understanding of the enterprise's political climate and how to navigate, influence and persuade political waters. Ability to understand the long-term ("big picture") and short-term perspectives of situations. Ability to quickly comprehend the functions and capabilities of new technologies. Strong SQL skills required. Experience working with Cloud technologies such as AWS/Azure/GCP preferred. Experience working with healthcare data preferred.
