Job summary

Hastings Insurance is seeking a Data Engineering Manager to lead the engineering, integration, and architecture behind our enterprise data ecosystem. You will supervise data pipelines, warehousing, and architecture to support operations, analytics, and strategic decision-making.

You will manage a team of data engineers and warehousing professionals, collaborate with IT, analytics, and business stakeholders, and drive governance, quality, and scalable solutions across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in IT, business, economics, or related field.
• 10+ years of progressive experience supporting enterprise data solutions and data warehousing.
• Experience leading technical teams.
• Expertise in ETL design, development, and implementation.
• Strong data warehousing, integration, and architecture principles.
• Experience with relational databases and enterprise data environments.
• Proficient in communicating effectively in cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team responsible for enterprise data engineering, data warehousing, and data integration.
• Oversee design, development, deployment, and maintenance of data pipelines and warehousing environments.
• Ensure reliable movement, transformation, and delivery of data into centralized platforms.
• Guide data architecture, data modeling, and integration practices for secure, scalable solutions.
• Partner with IT, architecture, business stakeholders, and data owners to align data solutions.
• Promote data governance standards, data quality, and consistency across assets.
• Support enterprise reporting and BI data structures maintenance.
• Develop and manage maintenance schedules for data platforms.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend cost-effective improvements.
• Support vendor evaluations and third-party data service relationships.
• Collaborate with leaders to improve data accessibility and operational efficiency.
• Stay informed on trends affecting data environments and P&C insurance.
