Job summary

Gateway Fiber is seeking an Enterprise Data Administrator to own and manage our data platform, including Lakehouses, Bronze-Silver-Gold layers, and Power BI integrations. This remote role supports data quality, governance, and analytics delivery with a focus on enterprise reporting.

You will collaborate with stakeholders, IT, and vendors to define data needs, develop pipelines, and ensure trusted datasets for analytics. Strong SQL, data modeling, and Azure data experience are required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in data engineering or enterprise data systems.
• Hands-on with Microsoft Fabric and data lakehouses.
• Proficient in ETL/ELT pipelines and data transformation.
• Strong SQL and T‑SQL, performance tuning.
• Experience with PowerBI models and reporting.
• Knowledge of data governance and quality standards.
• Ability to work independently in a small-team environment.
• Experience with Medallion Architecture, Azure Data Platform, Python, or automation.
• Experience supporting ArcGIS Enterprise or GIS databases.
• Experience integrating ERP, CRM, OSS/BSS, telecom, or other systems.

Responsibilities

• Own and administer Gateway Fiber’s Microsoft Fabric environment, including Lakehouses and Data Factory.
• Manage the enterprise Lakehouse and Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold).
• Build and improve ETL/ELT pipelines transforming source data into curated datasets.
• Publish and govern Gold datasets for reporting and analytics.
• Support Power BI semantic models, datasets, and reporting performance.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, analysts, IT, and vendors to define data needs, improve quality, and drive adoption.
• Provide SQL Server database administration support for GIS and other enterprise systems, including monitoring, backups, and performance tuning.

About Gateway

Gateway Fiber is a locally owned and operated internet service provider focused on improving community connectivity. The company is building a national fiber‑to‑the‑home platform and plans to serve 500,000 homes and businesses, backed by CBRE Investment Management.

Responsibilities

• Own and administer Gateway Fiber’s Microsoft Fabric environment, including Lakehouses, Warehouses, One Lake, Data Factory, and other data engineering workloads.
• Manage the enterprise Lakehouse and Medallion Architecture, covering Bronze, Silver, and Gold data layers.
• Build, maintain, and improve ETL/ELT pipelines that transform source‑system data into trusted, business‑ready datasets.
• Publish and govern Gold datasets that analysts and business teams can confidently use for reporting and analytics.
• Support PowerBI semantic models, datasets, and reporting performance.
• Partner with business stakeholders, analysts, IT, and vendors to define data needs, improve quality, and drive adoption.
• Provide SQLServer database administration support for GIS and other enterprise systems, including monitoring, maintenance, backups, and performance tuning.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering, database administration, analytics platforms, or enterprise data systems.
• Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Fabric, modern data platforms, Lakehouses, Warehouses, or enterprise data lakes.
• Proficiency building ETL/ELT pipelines and transforming source‑system data into curated datasets.
• Strong SQL and T‑SQL skills, including troubleshooting, performance tuning, and data modeling.
• Experience with PowerBI semantic models, datasets, and reporting solutions.
• Understanding of data governance, data quality, documentation, and enterprise reporting standards.
• Ability to work independently, communicate with stakeholders, and take ownership in a small‑team environment.
• Experience with Medallion Architecture, Azure Data Platform technologies, Python, PowerShell, or automation.
• Experience supporting ArcGIS Enterprise, GIS data environments, or enterprise SQLServer databases.
• Experience integrating ERP, CRM, OSS/BSS, telecom, utility, or other operational systems.
• Microsoft Fabric, Azure, Esri, or related certifications.
