The Wikimedia Foundation is seeking a Communications Lead for Wikimedia Enterprise on a 6-month contract to shape external messaging, manage media relations, and drive organic demand for Enterprise offerings. This role sits in the Media Relations team within the Communications Department, reporting to the Communications Manager with a dotted line to the President of Wikimedia Enterprise.

The ideal candidate will guide narratives, collaborate across teams, and measure impact against growth plans.

Qualifikationen

• 8+ years of communications experience in tech or B2B environments.
• Experience bridging communications and marketing/growth functions.
• Proven earned media strategy and thought leadership experience.
• Strong stakeholder management and executive influence skills.
• Comfort with ambiguity and rapid-response workflows.

Aufgaben

• Develop and own external communications strategy for Wikimedia Enterprise across media, speaking engagements, and channels.
• Build relationships with mainstream and B2B reporters and conference organizers to secure opportunities.
• Serve as primary media liaison, manage inquiries, prep spokespeople, and lead rapid response efforts.
• Partner with internal teams to develop narratives and thought leadership.
• Guide, produce and review press statements, blogs, pitch notes, briefing docs, ensuring consistent messaging.
• Coordinate end-to-end comms for major launches with the Growth team from drafting to release.
• Ensure alignment between growth plan and annual comms calendar.
• Build relationships with internal/external stakeholders to enable successful comms plans.
• Manage relationships with external agencies as directed.
• Use data and customer insights to refine messaging and strategy across business audiences.
• Work with leadership to set goals and KPIs and share actionable insights.
