Job Type: Full-Time / Contract
Experience: 12-15+ Years
Role Summary
We are looking for an experienced Enterprise / Cloud Architect with strong expertise in GCP, GKE, enterprise application migration, and Java application architecture.
The architect will lead the migration and cloud enablement of a large monolithic Java application to Google Cloud Platform (GCP) while maintaining existing functional and non-functional requirements.
The ideal candidate must have strong experience with stateful workloads, session management, DNS-based service discovery, GKE architecture, GCP networking, high availability, and Valkey/Redis caching.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture and migration of a large monolithic Java application to GCP.
- Define target-state GCP architecture, migration strategy, and cloud enablement roadmap.
- Design and manage stateful session and connection management across cloud instances and containers.
- Implement DNS-based service discovery to replace fixed-IP dependencies.
- Design DNS routing strategies to eliminate application dependency on server IP addresses.
- Design and validate application connectivity across GCP services and GKE.
- Design GKE architecture focused on scalability, resilience, availability, and stateful workloads.
- Validate application and session persistence during GCP instance restarts, GKE pod restarts, and pod rescheduling.
- Design and implement Valkey/Redis caching solutions, including high availability, scalability, and application integration.
- Collaborate with Application, Network, Security, DevOps, and Platform teams to resolve connectivity, latency, availability, and session-management challenges.
- Define enterprise architecture guardrails, patterns, standards, and best practices for GCP workloads.
- Design high-availability and failover strategies for business-critical applications.
- Review and validate architecture designs, PoCs, migration plans, and implementation artifacts.
- Identify application dependencies, migration risks, technical constraints, and required cloud remediation.
- Provide technical leadership across application modernization and cloud transformation initiatives.
Must-Have Technical Skills
- 12-15+ years of experience in Enterprise Architecture, Solution Architecture, or Cloud Architecture.
- Hands-on experience with GCP and GKE.
- Proven experience migrating large, tightly coupled monolithic Java applications to cloud platforms.
- Strong understanding of Java application architecture and cloud migration.
- Strong experience with stateful applications and session lifecycle management.
- Hands-on or architecture-level experience with Valkey/Redis caching – MUST HAVE.
