Job summary

ZealHire in Houston, TX seeks an Enterprise Architect to establish system information requirements and guide enterprise-wide information systems development. This role designs architecture across software, hardware, and communications to meet present and future cross-functional needs.

You will lead technical planning, mentor software engineers, and evaluate vendor options while ensuring compliance with IT architectures and TOGAF principles.

Qualifications

• Experience conducting ARB and leading architectural reviews.
• Minimum 5 years of enterprise architecture experience; more is a plus.
• Knowledge or certification in TOGAF preferred.

Summary:

The main function of an Enterprise Architect is to establish system information requirements using analysis of information in the development of enterprise-wide or large-scale information systems.

Job Responsibilities:

• Designs architecture to include the software, hardware, and communications to support the total requirements as well as provide for present and future cross-functional requirements and interfaces
• Ensures these systems are compatible and in compliance with the standards for agency IT architectures, and profiles of standards as they apply to the implementation and specific to the solution for the platform, integration with other systems, and the external interfaces
• Ensures that the common operating environment is compliant. Evaluates analytically and systematically problems of work flows, organization and planning and develops appropriate corrective action

Skills:

• Experience with broad technology delivery, including custom development using various development languages
• Experience with providing technical leadership, mentoring on software engineering design, development, and frameworks, analyzing alternatives, and presenting technical options to leads and clients
• Experience with driving technical planning and solutions for small software portfolio, including authoring or managing the development of software designs, managing vendor evaluations, and justifying technical recommendations
• Requires experience in conducting ARB
• Knowledge or certification in TOGAF preferred

Education/Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required. MBA or other related advanced degree preferred
• Minimum 5 years of experience required, additional years of experience preferred
