Job summary

Tech Mahindra in Washington, DC is seeking a senior architect to design and govern enterprise applications and digital platforms. You will drive architecture across cloud, on‑prem, and SaaS landscapes, ensuring security, scalability, and interoperability across teams.

This role requires strong leadership, stakeholder management, and deep SDLC experience. The candidate will collaborate with development, QA, DevOps, and business units to deliver end-to-end solutions with modern delivery practices.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in IT, software vendor, or enterprise tech.
• 6+ years designing and governing architecture for complex enterprise apps.
• Experience integrating across cloud, on-prem, SaaS, and legacy systems.
• Deep understanding of enterprise architecture, design patterns, and SDLC.

Responsibilities

About the Role and Job:

Qualifications & Experience

• 10+ years of experience working within an IT organization, software vendor, or enterprise technology department.
• 6+ years of experience designing and governing architecture for complex enterprise applications, digital platforms, and web-based solutions.
• Proven experience architecting and governing integration across heterogeneous technology landscapes, encompassing cloud, on-premises, SaaS, legacy, custom-built, and packaged enterprise applications.
• Deep understanding of application architecture, software design principles, and enterprise architecture practices.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise architecture and solution design patterns, including distributed and cloud-native architectures, microservices, API-led integration, event-driven solutions, and scalable, secure enterprise platforms.
• Extensive understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and modern delivery methodologies.
• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and technical leadership skills.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, and presentation capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Elicit, analyze, and document functional and non-functional requirements, architectural constraints, and solution design considerations in collaboration with business and technical stakeholders.
• Define target-state architectures, solution roadmaps, and architecture work plans aligned with business objectives.
• Present architectural approaches, recommendations, and delivery plans to internal and customer stakeholders, providing regular updates on progress and key decisions.
• Assess the technical and operational effectiveness of existing applications and platforms, producing architecture reviews, gap analyses, and improvement recommendations.
• Evaluate the quality of existing software implementations across architecture, design, integration, and code quality dimensions, and provide actionable recommendations.
• Lead architecture definition and technology evaluation activities during project inception, including proof-of-concepts, prototypes, and technical feasibility assessments.
• Produce architecture documentation, technical proposals, standards, and decision records to support project delivery and governance.
• Provide architectural guidance and technical leadership throughout solution construction, testing, deployment, and transition phases.
• Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture standards, security requirements, scalability principles, and operational best practices.
• Collaborate with development, QA, DevOps, data, and business teams to ensure successful end-to-end solution delivery.
• Present architecture deliverables, findings, recommendations, and technical decisions to both internal leadership and customer stakeholders.

The pay range for this role is $150,000- $225,000 per annum including any bonuses or variable pay.
