As an Enterprise Architect, this role is responsible for partnering with technology teams across the enterprise to drive adherence to architecture standards, governance processes, and controls within assigned technology domains. The successful candidate will work with architects and subject matter experts across Data Management, Enterprise Security, and Associate Applications to ensure that technology strategies, capability models, and blueprints are developed, maintained, and delivered in a timely manner, and that initiatives and projects align with approved architecture standards, roadmaps, and strategic direction.

The role is responsible for supporting architecture governance processes that help ensure compliance with audit, risk, regulatory, and enterprise standards requirements. In addition, the candidate will provide architecture oversight for the introduction of new applications, products, and technologies into the enterprise.

As a secondary responsibility, the candidate may author technology blueprints and strategy documents for select capabilities, partnering with domain experts and stakeholders to define the strategic direction, target-state architecture, standards, and governance requirements for those capabilities. The candidate will also support AI-driven automation initiatives within Enterprise Architecture to improve efficiency, governance, reporting, and architecture lifecycle management.

Responsibilities
  • Create and maintain domain architecture strategies, blueprints and roadmaps showing the evolution of systems from current to target state to meet strategic business, financial and technology objectives.
  • Participate in architecture consulting to enable design decisions, lead design sessions where appropriate, manage design tradeoffs between time to market, financial and strategic impact, and support successful implementation of initiatives.
  • Act as a control function to ensure adherence of designs to blueprints, architectural principles and enterprise standards.
  • Support compliance of designs to all relevant local laws and regulations.
  • Identify risks, quickly resolve issues and conflicting priorities, and influence positive outcomes.
  • Leverage technical expertise to support vendor selection activities, including recommendations on build versus buy decisions.
  • Support development of prototypes and proof-of-concepts to validate designs.
  • Contribute to the creation and evolution of architectural patterns, principles and guidelines.
  • Support execution of the architecture governance board.
  • Provide inputs to annual financial planning and related activities.
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience spanning software engineering, solution architecture, enterprise architecture, and technology strategy, including experience defining and executing enterprise technology strategies within large-scale organizations.
  • Experience in software development, application and data architecture, modern software engineering practices, APIs, event-driven architectures, secure-by-design principles, cloud computing, AI technologies, emerging technology trends, and modern development methodologies.
  • Proven experience governing enterprise architecture standards, conducting design reviews, developing technology strategies and architecture roadmaps, and aligning business strategy, technology strategy, and solution architecture through architecture governance processes.
  • Hands-on experience with programming languages such as Python and TypeScript, along with familiarity with enterprise infrastructure platforms, including cloud, networking, compute, middleware, and database technologies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence senior architects and effectively communicate complex technical concepts.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience collaborating with CIO Architects, engineering leaders, and technology governance organizations within complex, highly regulated enterprises, preferably in the financial services industry.
  • Experience developing and maintaining enterprise capability models, architecture blueprints, technology strategies, architecture standards, and reference architectures.
  • Certification and/or practical experience with architecture frameworks and standards such as TOGAF, UML, BPMN, and Zachman.
