Qualifications

  • Demonstrated proficiency in core banking platforms, ancillary application administration, system configuration, and integration management.
  • Working knowledge of SQL for reporting, data validation, and application database support; ability to read, write, and troubleshoot queries.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and create actionable solutions.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • The ability to work independently or within a team setting and maintain a high degree of concentration.

Responsibilities

  • System Oversight and Optimization: Develop understanding of core banking system and integrated apps, configuring workflows and integrations across departments.
  • Coordinate the implementation of service packs, updates and patches for information systems, ensuring CU staff are informed of changes.
  • Work with associates and vendors to implement new information systems and interfaces to existing infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to troubleshoot issues, implement upgrades, maintain data integrity, and influence roadmap priorities.
  • Partner with analytics and reporting teams to ensure data structures support accurate reporting.
  • Conduct regular audits of systems to identify inefficiencies and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Manage forms and document mapping in data migration or integration contexts.
  • Assist with testing plans for configurations and changes; coordinate user acceptance testing.
  • Oversee processing workflows to meet accuracy and member satisfaction goals.
  • Develop automation scripts to streamline processes and stay compliant with laws.
  • Maintain documentation for processes, workflows, and policies.
  • Coordinate with units to implement system-level configuration changes and enforce change control.
  • Promote change management and minimize operational risk.
  • Lead cross-departmental initiatives for system improvements and integrations.
  • Provide training and guidance on system functionality and updates.
  • Ensure timely communication of performance issues and risks across the portfolio.
  • Collaborate on policy and process changes with Enterprise Applications Manager.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

The Enterprise Applications Specialist is responsible for the administration, optimization, and support of the credit union’s core banking system and all ancillary applications that integrate with it. This role serves as the primary technical resource for assigned enterprise application systems, providing day‑to‑day administration, configuration, troubleshooting, integration support, and optimization while operating within established governance and risk management standards.

The Enterprise Applications Specialist plays a critical part in aligning system functionality with the credit union’s strategic goals by exercising sound judgment in system configuration and optimization, balancing operational efficiency with effective risk management. The position requires strong technical expertise and a broad understanding of credit union operations across all business lines.

Responsibilities

System Oversight and Optimization:

  • Develop a deep understanding of the credit union’s core banking system and all integrated ancillary applications, leveraging configurable features to create, optimize, and support workflows, partner integrations, business rules, and communication processes across all departments.
  • Coordinate the implementation of service packs, action tickets, updates and patches for all information systems in a timely fashion. While ensuring that CU staff are aware of all system changes in function and procedure.
  • Work with associates and vendors as needed to implement new information systems and interfaces to the organization’s existing infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to troubleshoot/resolve system issues, implement upgrades, maintain data integrity, and influence roadmap priorities.
  • Partner with analytics and reporting teams to ensure data structures, integrations, and system configurations support accurate and scalable reporting.
  • Conduct regular audits of systems to identify inefficiencies, determine enhancements & implement solutions, and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Manage forms and document mapping in conjunction with data migration, integration, or other structured purposes within the systems.
  • Assist with developing and executing test plans for system configurations, enhancements, integrations, upgrades, and other changes; coordinate user acceptance testing and validate functionality prior to production implementation.

Operations and Compliance:

  • Oversee processing workflows, ensuring they meet organizational goals for accuracy, timeliness, and member satisfaction.
  • Develop and maintain automation and batch scripts to streamline processes
  • Stay current on all applicable laws, regulations, and upcoming regulatory changes to ensure full compliance across credit union operations, policies, procedures, and training materials as they relate to administered systems.
  • Analyze system and operational performance metrics (KPIs) and implement system‑level changes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and service delivery
  • Support regulatory audits and examinations by providing required system documentation, reports, and cooperation to internal auditors, examiners, and the Supervisory Committee.
  • Maintain comprehensive and clear documentation for configured business processes, system workflows, and policy requirements.
  • Coordinate with business units to assess and implement system‑level configuration changes, ensuring all automated processes and decisioning tools remain compliant with applicable laws, regulations, and credit union policy.
  • Follow and enforce change management and release control processes to ensure system stability and minimize operational risk.

System Implementation and Continuous Improvement:

  • Partner with the Enterprise Applications Manager to identify opportunities for system and process improvements that align with the credit union’s strategic plan.
  • Evaluate and implement new technologies, tools, and automation solutions to enhance operations and member experience.
  • Lead cross‑departmental initiatives to streamline workflows and integrate systems across organizational platforms, with the core banking system serving as the foundation for all integration design and data flow decisions.
  • Lead troubleshooting and resolution efforts with internal and external stakeholders to design, maintain, and support system integrations to address business challenges by implementing effective solutions within the systems.
  • Contribute to projects involving system upgrades or the implementation of new systems, business processes and policies.

Collaboration and Organizational Support:

  • Provide training and guidance to associates with system functionality, best practices, and updates.
  • Promote a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the department.
  • Ensure the team is kept fully informed of all system performance issues, adverse conditions, configuration changes, and risks identified across the enterprise application portfolio.
  • Collaborate with the Enterprise Applications Manager regarding changes in operational policies, procedures, and system capabilities as deemed necessary, and provide recommendations for system‑driven process improvements.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned, ensuring accountability and alignment with organizational objectives.
