Job summary

Project Management Institute is seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect to drive AI transformation across PMI's engineering and software delivery lifecycle. You will connect business strategy, enterprise architecture, and hands-on AI engineering to embed architecture guidance into delivery workflows and improve engineering performance.

The role requires a strong background in cloud-based Microsoft technologies, large-scale system design, and a track record of migrating legacy architectures

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in application development, technology or related field.
• 8+ years of architecting distributed enterprise solutions using Microsoft technologies.
• 12+ years on a development team across the full SDLC.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure, .NET, Azure DevOps and GitHub environments.
• Experience integrating AI developer tools and enterprise knowledge repositories.
• Experience establishing engineering performance baselines and using metrics for improvement.
• Ability to lead with solution architects and technical leads in enterprise architecture.
• Experience documenting standards, guidelines, and architecture diagrams.
• Ability to synthesize business, technical and operational needs into architecture.
• Experience migrating legacy systems to future state architectures.
• Proven track record managing expectations with stakeholders.

How you'll make a difference

You will drive AI transformation across PMI's engineering and software delivery lifecycle, executing the architectural and engineering enablement components of the Enterprise Office 2.0 vision. Connecting business strategy, enterprise architecture, and hands-on AI engineering to make enterprise knowledge actionable for teams and AI agents, embed architecture guidance into delivery workflows, and improve engineering performance.

What You'll Bring to the Role

• Bachelor's degree in application development, technology or related field. Equivalent work experience maybe considered

• Minimum of 8 years of professional work experience in architecting distributed enterprise technical solutions using Microsoft technologies.

• Minimum of 12 years working on a development team in all phases of the software development lifecycle.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure, .NET, Azure DevOps, and GitHub-based engineering environments.
• Experience integrating AI developer tools, enterprise knowledge repositories, and automated code review capabilities.
• Experience establishing engineering performance baselines and using delivery metrics to guide continuous improvement.
• Experience and knowledge to lead and collaborate effectively with solution architect and technical leads in the development of a practical Enterprise application architecture.
• Experience establishing and guiding others in documenting standards, guidelines, best practices, and architecture diagramming.
• Ability to design enterprise solutions by synthesizing a combination of business, technical, operational needs into a sound application architecture to address these needs.
• Ability to develop and lead efforts to migrate legacy systems and architectures to a desired future state architecture.
• Significant experience establishing and managing expectations with business, executive and customer stakeholders.
