Job summary

Plug and Play is expanding its Enterprise & AI Ventures team and is hiring a technical Associate to evaluate AI/enterprise software products and translate diligence into actionable investment decisions. You'll build theses, conduct structured technical and market diligence on early-stage companies, and collaborate with enterprise partners to understand buyer needs and validate solutions.

Qualifications

Strong technical foundation: CS/engineering background or equivalent experience shipping software.
Comfort evaluating modern AI systems and data stacks (e.g., LLM apps, RAG, fine-tuning, evals, vector DBs, warehouses/ETL, observability).
Ability to ask informed architecture/security questions and validate product claims.
Demonstrated analytical skills: can size markets and synthesize complex information.
Excellent written and verbal communication—able to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
Genuine curiosity about startups, venture capital, and emerging technologies.

Responsibilities

Source and evaluate enterprise AI startups and build investment theses.
Perform structured technical diligence: data architectures, scalability, security.
Engage with enterprise partners to map buyer needs and prioritize opportunities.
Create research reports and investment memos for internal/external audiences.
Support events like demos and enterprise matchmaking.
Maintain market maps and competitive intelligence in focus areas.
