Position Summary

The Carlyle Group's Enterprise AI team within Enterprise Tech & Data (Global Technology & Solutions) is seeking a forward‑thinking, technically fluent Senior AI Product Manager to support the strategy, platform management, and enablement programs of the Enterprise AI team. This role reports to the Principal, Head of Enterprise Productivity Solutions and works across a highly collaborative, cross‑functional team environment. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, team player with executive presence and business acumen, and has hands‑on experience with AI productivity and coding platforms in a fast‑paced, regulated environment. Experience in financial services or alternative investments is strongly preferred. In‑Office Requirement: 4 days per week.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Support the definition and execution of the Enterprise AI team roadmap, identifying and prioritising high‑impact AI use cases across business verticals and translating them into actionable product and solution plans.
  • Stay current on the rapidly evolving AI landscape, including developments from key AI labs, emerging platforms, and new capabilities relevant to Carlyle’s use cases and strategic priorities.
  • Partner with business users, vertical tech teams, and the Data Science team to surface, scope, and prioritise AI opportunities that deliver measurable business value.
Solution Design & Development
  • Demonstrate hands‑on technical proficiency in designing and building AI‑powered solutions from concept through production.
  • Lead end‑to‑end solution delivery: prototype and test concepts, vet approaches with stakeholders, coordinate security and compliance review, pilot with users, and productionise and maintain solutions once deployed.
  • Own the ongoing quality, iteration, and performance of solutions post‑launch, incorporating user feedback and usage data to continuously improve outcomes.
  • Collaborate with business users and vertical tech teams to co‑develop solutions that address real workflow needs, ensuring what is built is practical, scalable, and aligned to firm standards.
Enterprise AI Platform Management
  • Support ownership and management of enterprise AI platforms (productivity and coding solutions) across their full lifecycle from evaluation through deployment and ongoing adoption.
  • Manage vendor relationships with key AI lab partners and vendors, tracking roadmap developments, identifying new capabilities, and exploring emerging AI tools and startups.
  • Ensure platforms align with enterprise architecture, governance standards, and user needs, driving measurable adoption and value.
  • Serve as a knowledgeable advisor to teams across the firm on available AI platforms and capabilities, guiding teams toward existing solutions before introducing new tooling while maintaining a financially responsible, non‑redundant portfolio.
Training, Enablement & Adoption
  • Support and help execute the soon‑to‑be‑launched “Empower AI” program, including firm‑wide AI training, communications, and enablement initiatives that build AI fluency and confidence across Carlyle employees.
  • Contribute to the Citizen Developer Program, supporting structured pathways that empower employees to build their own AI‑powered capabilities within enterprise guardrails.
  • Serve as a trusted partner to business users, vertical tech teams, and the Data Science team, helping identify workflows and use cases where AI can drive meaningful value.
  • Drive adoption of enterprise AI platforms through proactive training, communications, and user engagement, promoting a culture of responsible AI experimentation.
  • Help drive the usage and adoption data infrastructure for enterprise AI platforms, analysing metrics to derive insights, identify gaps, and drive depth of adoption.
  • Regularly report on platform adoption, usage trends, and outcomes to the Enterprise AI team lead and GTS leadership, using data to inform prioritisation and demonstrate business value.
Governance & Delivery Oversight
  • Ensure adherence to Carlyle’s AI governance policies, working with Legal & Compliance and Security to coordinate tool evaluation, pilot structuring, security review, and ongoing policy compliance across the platform portfolio.
  • Help manage delivery timelines, backlog prioritisation, and release planning for Enterprise AI team initiatives.
  • Communicate platform status, initiative progress, and strategic value to the Enterprise AI team lead and broader GTS leadership as needed.
Requirements
Education & Certificates
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Advanced degree or certifications in AI, Computer Science, or Product Management is a plus.
Professional Experience
  • 8+ years of overall relevant technical experience.
  • Experience in product management, product ownership, or a technical role with significant product responsibility within a complex enterprise environment.
  • 2+ years of hands‑on experience with AI platforms and/or AI coding tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, OpenAI Codex) in an enterprise setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to write code and build working prototypes independently, including proficiency in Python or a comparable scripting language.
  • Practical experience with AI APIs, prompt engineering, and agent or workflow design, able to move from concept to working proof‑of‑concept without engineering support.
  • Proven ability to identify and develop AI use cases that drive measurable value for enterprise users and business teams.
  • Familiarity with AI governance frameworks, security review processes, and vendor compliance in a regulated financial services environment.
  • Experience designing or delivering AI training programs, enablement content, or change‑management initiatives for enterprise audiences.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 Copilot, SharePoint, and the broader Microsoft AI ecosystem.
  • Experience building internal tooling, dashboards, or automation workflows using APIs, scripting, or low‑code/no‑code platforms in an enterprise environment.
  • Experience in financial services, asset management, or alternative investments.
Competencies & Attributes
  • Excellent communication skills, executive presence, and the ability to collaborate cross‑functionally across technical, legal, security, and business stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and drive results in a fast‑paced, regulated environment.
  • Self‑starter with a strong bias toward execution; takes ownership, drives work forward independently, delivers with high quality and follow‑through, and knows how to get things done within a complex organization.
  • Proactive communicator who keeps stakeholders informed, seeks input and guidance at the right moments, incorporates feedback constructively, and triangulates across perspectives to move work forward with alignment.
