• Familiarity with data pipeline design, PySpark, or ML concepts.</br>

Your Role

Foxtrot is seeking an Enterprise AI & Data Forward Deployed Engineer Intern for Summer 2027. In this role, you will get real ownership early by working directly at the intersection of production data engineering, platform workflows, and real‑world client impact.

At Foxtrot, interns do not work on synthetic side assignments. You will architect end‑to‑end data pipelines, design interactive user interfaces, integrate predictive AI capabilities, and build production‑ready applications that solve complex enterprise challenges. Supported by senior leaders and former Palantir engineers, you will learn to navigate ambiguity, scope technical solutions independently, and translate complex technical architecture into business value for non‑technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Architect and build data pipelines (PySpark, Pipeline Builder, SQL), data models, and interactive workflows on enterprise platforms like Palantir Foundry.
• Build production applications by integrating AIP logic, LLM capabilities, and predictive modeling for operational workflows (such as control towers, analytics dashboards, and automated toolsets).
• Take proactive ownership of project lifecycles, authoring design docs, setting milestones, and unblocking technical challenges independently.
• Translate complex technical builds into clear executive narratives, framing engineering choices around the exact business outcomes they unlock.
• Evaluate available platform tools, apply core software engineering fundamentals, and select the optimal technical solution for deterministic versus AI‑driven workflows.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Data Science, Software Engineering, Applied Math, or a related technical field (Graduation dates winter 2027 to spring 2028 preferred).
• High degree of personal agency with a proven ability to navigate ambiguous problems, scope technical tasks, and communicate context clearly when seeking input.
• Strong core technical foundation in Python, SQL, data structures, and software engineering fundamentals. TypeScript experience is a plus.
• Hands‑on familiarity with data pipeline design, PySpark, or machine learning concepts.
• Excellent presentation and technical storytelling skills, with the ability to set context upfront and articulate business value to non‑technical stakeholders.

Preferred Experience

• Direct experience with Palantir Foundry (Workshop, Pipeline Builder, Contour, or AIP Logic/Agents) or enterprise data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks).
• Practical exposure to classical ML frameworks (PyTorch, scikit‑learn, XGBoost) for real‑time inference and predictive modeling.
• Prior interest or experience in client‑facing technical roles (Forward Deployed Engineering, Solutions Architecture, or Technical Consulting).
