Smartsheet is seeking an experienced sales professional to join our team as a State and Local Government Account Executive. You will have a proven track record of performance in quota attainment and developing customer accounts within the State and Local Government sector.

This remote role will cover Texas, Oklahoma, Mississippi, and report to a Regional Director, Expansion Sales.

Responsibilities include:

  • Navigate complex government procurement processes and cycles
  • Respond to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Requests for Quotes (RFQs)
  • Develop relationships with key decision-makers in State and Local Government agencies
  • Stay up-to-date on government regulations and compliance related to software procurement
  • Tailor sales presentations and proposals to address specific needs of State and Local Government
  • Exceed software and services sales quotas
  • Manage full sales cycle for solutions involving multiple groups within accounts with 2k-10k employees
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities within existing customers
  • Leverage relationships to expand Smartsheet's footprint within agencies and drive revenue during renewals
  • Articulate and demonstrate Smartsheet's organizational solutions and value
  • Build sales pipeline and bookings within your territory
  • Collaborate with Sales Engineers, Solutions Consultants, and Customer Success teams to close deals
  • Create tailored proposals based on customer outcomes
  • Utilize sales enablement tools to identify needs and demonstrate value
  • Track key metrics for forecasting using our CRM platform
  • Manage customer lifecycle from pre-sale to renewal

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of full-cycle sales experience in a tech-oriented field; SaaS experience preferred
  • Based in Texas, Oklahoma, or Mississippi
  • Experience selling to State and Local Government agencies preferred
  • Proven ability to maintain and develop customer relationships in a B2B environment
  • Strong prospecting and territory management skills
  • Data-driven sales approach
  • Ability to work under pressure, self-directed, resourceful
  • Excellent relationship management skills, including with senior management
  • Familiarity with CRM software and Google Suite
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Salary range: $90,000 - $125,000 USD, with incentive opportunities. Compensation depends on experience, location, and skills.
