Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, OH is seeking a registered nurse with specialized expertise in ostomy and skin care to join the patient care unit team. You will apply clinical expertise to improve patient outcomes, involve patients in their care plans, and help reduce length of stay where possible.
The role requires an Ohio RN license, a nursing degree, and completion of Enterostomal Therapy training, with at least 18 months of acute care experience.
Functions as an integral member of the patient care unit team as well as with other patient care and supportive services that are directed towards achievement of patient care outcomes, maximizing the patient’s involvement in the plan of care, improving service levels, reducing the length of stay, and decreasing costs. Provides nursing care to patients with ostomies and/or skin problems using specialized nursing knowledge and clinical expertise. Serves as a resource person for the patients, family, health care team members, and community at large; coordinates the nursing plan of care of patients with fecal and urinary diversions, wounds, drains, skin care problems and incontinence.
