Job summary

Atrium Health Lexington Otolaryngology/ENT is seeking a Medical Assistant to support outpatient ENT care for adults and children. You will prepare patients, obtain vitals, collect health information, and assist clinicians during procedures in a team-based setting.

Responsibilities include performing lab tests, phlebotomy, immunizations under orders, and coordinating referrals to keep the clinic running smoothly. Strong communication and EMR proficiency are essential.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program required.
• BLS certification required.
• CMA/CCMA/NCMA/RMA credentials preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and room patients; obtain vital signs and health information.
• Perform laboratory procedures (e.g., strep test, wound culture) using standard precautions.
• Assist physicians with procedures and administer routine medications per orders or standing protocols.
• Refers questions to RN/Physician and relays information to patient as directed.
• Maintain clinic flow and effective communication with the health care team.
