General Summary:

The Enrollment Counselor is a key member of the Enrollment Management team responsible for supporting Bennett College’s strategic enrollment goals through recruitment, admissions counseling, relationship development, and enrollment conversion initiatives.

The Enrollment Counselor manages an assigned recruitment territory and develops comprehensive recruitment strategies designed to attract, engage, and enroll prospective students. This position builds meaningful partnerships with schools, community organizations, college access programs, alumni, and other stakeholders while guiding students and families through the admissions and enrollment process.

Utilizing customer relationship management (CRM) technology, enrollment analytics, and data informed recruitment practices, the Enrollment Counselor manages prospective student pipelines, tracks recruitment outcomes, and implements strategies that increase applications, deposits, and enrollment yield.

The Enrollment Counselor serves as a representative and ambassador of Bennett College by providing exceptional service and promoting the College’s academic programs, student success initiatives, and institutional mission.

This position requires extensive travel, evening and weekend responsibilities, and the ability to meet established recruitment and enrollment performance expectations.

Essential Job Functions:
Recruitment and Territory Management
  • Develop and execute an annual recruitment plan for an assigned geographic territory.
  • Implement recruitment strategies aligned with institutional enrollment goals.
  • Identify and cultivate new recruitment opportunities through market research, demographic analysis, and enrollment trends.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with high schools, community colleges, community organizations, college access programs, alumni, and other recruitment partners.
  • Maintain an active recruitment calendar and ensure consistent outreach throughout the enrollment cycle.
Prospective Student Counseling and Engagement
  • Provide individualized admissions counseling to prospective students and families.
  • Communicate effectively with prospective students regarding admissions requirements, academic opportunities, financial aid processes, and enrollment next steps.
  • Conduct recruitment presentations, information sessions, campus tours, interviews, and yield activities.
  • Represent Bennett College at college fairs, high school visits, transfer events, community programs, and virtual recruitment activities.
  • Develop relationships that support student enrollment decisions and long-term institutional engagement.
Admissions and Enrollment Operations
  • Review admissions applications and supporting documentation for completeness and accuracy.
  • Assist prospective students in completing enrollment requirements.
  • Maintain timely and accurate records within the College’s Student Information System and CRM platform.
  • Monitor prospective students’ progress through the enrollment funnel.
  • Respond to inquiries from students, families, and recruitment partners in a timely and professional manner.
Data Management and Reporting
  • Utilize CRM technology to document recruitment activities, student interactions, and territory outcomes.
  • Monitor recruitment metrics including inquiries, applications, admissions decisions, deposits, and enrolled students.
  • Analyze territory performance and adjust recruitment strategies based on data findings.
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, and annual recruitment reports.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of recruitment activities.
Institutional Collaboration
  • Collaborate with Financial Aid, Student Success, Residence Life, Academic Affairs, Marketing, and Alumni Relations to support enrollment initiatives.
  • Participate in enrollment strategy meetings and recruitment planning activities.
  • Support admissions events, orientation, registration programs, open houses, and admitted student programming.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Performance Expectations:

Performance will be evaluated based on achievement of established enrollment and recruitment objectives, including but not limited to:

  • Achieve assigned recruitment and enrollment goals.
  • Meet territory-specific enrollment targets.
  • Participate in 80-100 recruitment events annually.
  • Complete 15-20 high school, community college, or community partner visits monthly during peak recruitment periods.
  • Maintain a minimum 90% prospective student satisfaction rating.
  • Respond to prospective student inquiries within one business day.
  • Maintain 98% accuracy in CRM and student information system records.
  • Enter recruitment activities within 24 hours of completion.
  • Improve recruitment funnel conversion rates, including inquiry-to-application, application-to-admit, and admit-to-enrollment.
  • Submit required reports according to established deadlines.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of strategic enrollment management principles and recruitment practices.
  • Knowledge of higher education admissions processes and enrollment operations.
  • Understanding of student recruitment strategies and relationship management.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with diverse populations.
  • Ability to analyze data and utilize technology to support recruitment outcomes.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, CRM systems, and student information systems.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Commitment to student-centered service and institutional excellence.
Education and Experience:
Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Two (2) to four (4) years of experience in admissions, enrollment management, recruitment, sales, marketing, higher education, or related field.
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to travel extensively.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as required.
Preferred:
  • Experience working with CRM systems and student information systems.
  • Experience using enrollment analytics and reporting tools.
  • Experience recruiting first-generation, transfer, adult, or non-traditional students.
  • Bilingual proficiency.
Travel Requirements:

This position requires extensive travel in support of recruitment and enrollment initiatives. Expected travel responsibilities include:

  • Traveling approximately 40-60% of the work year within assigned recruitment territories.
  • Participation in regional and national recruitment events, conferences, and college fairs.
  • Evening and weekend recruitment responsibilities.
  • Transportation of recruitment materials weighing up to 25 pounds.
