The YMCA of San Diego County is seeking a Site Supervisor – Enrichment to oversee program operations, coach staff, and coordinate enrichment activities for K-5 students. Responsibilities

• Lead YMCA staff with regular coaching and direction at the program location.
• Manage monthly expenses to meet program needs and positive fiscal outcomes.
• Plan and provide age-appropriate activities for participants per YMCA goals and policies.
• Complete and submit program paperwork accurately; schedule staff hours and breaks; maintain ratios.
• Supervise participants to ensure safety and guidance at all times.
• Communicate professionally with participants, families, school personnel and partners.
• Collaborate with schools and partners to align academic activities and services.
• Provide positive behavior guidance supporting developmental and social-emotional needs.
• Keep space clean, organized and safe; prepare daily group activities.
• Lead daily group activities with youth in line with daily plans.

Overview

Enrichment Site Supervisor

Under the supervision of the Program Director, the Site Supervisor - Enrichment is responsible for the site leadership, management and supervision of staff, students and program activities. The Site Supervisor – School Day Support is directly involved in the daily planning, implementation and of enrichment activities. This position will provide coaching and support for staff and will collaborate with Y branch, city or school personnel as well as families to ensure a safe and supportive environment. The Site Supervisor – Enrichment position requires leadership and management skills, strong communication skills and a strong desire to mentor staff and children, strengthen families and serve the community.

Schedule:

Monday through Friday 6:30am - 8:30amMonday through Thursday: 1:15pm - 6pmFriday 12:15am to 6pm

Responsibilities

• Regularly provide leadership, coaching and direction for all assigned YMCA Staff at the program location
• Effectively manage monthly expenses to ensure program needs are met, in addition to positive fiscal outcomes
• Lead the day to day and monthly planning and provision of grade and age-appropriate activities and events for participants in accordance with the goals and policies of the YMCA of San Diego County
• Accurate and timely completion and submission of all program paperwork. Accurate and appropriate scheduling and tracking of staff hours and work schedules. Coordinate staff breaks and ensure program ratios are maintained.
• Actively supervise program participants, ensuring their guidance and safety at all times
• Communicate in a timely, positive and professional manner with all participants, families, school personnel and community partners
• Collaborate with school personnel and program partners to align high quality academic activities and coordinate student services
• Provide positive behavior guidance that supports the developmental, social-emotional and physical needs of all students.
• Perform daily duties to ensure space is properly maintained, organized, clean and safe
• Facilitate and Lead daily group activities with youth in accordance with the daily and monthly planning
• Basic computer skills, including word processing, and ability to speak, read and write the English language
• Must have a sincere interest in leading, coaching and developing staff.
• Sincere interest in and ability to work with students in grades K-5, as well as parents and staff of diverse ethnic populations
• Skills to lead students in at least two of the following areas: STEM activities, Visual and Performing Arts, Physical Education/Outdoor Education, or Music.
• Must be highly dependable and have the ability to be flexible with change in daily schedule
• Ability to supervise and interact with staff and students
• Physical ability to lead in group activities and to perform related physical skills
• Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical incidents and the physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency
• Ability to adequately observe participant activities, enforce safety regulations and apply appropriate policies and procedures
• Other duties as assigned needs to be included to all roles

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older and possess a high school diploma/GED
• One or more of the following:
  • Completion, with pass grades, of 12 units in Child Development (CD) OR RELATED FIELDS like Psychology, Sociology and Special ED including: 3 units in CD/ECE or RELATED FIELD; 3 units in Human Development or similar course; 3 units in Child, Family and Community, or similar course; 3 units in program/curriculum.
  • OR Minimum of 1-2 years working in a child and youth development or education setting
  • OR 6 months with a BA/BS Degree in Education, Child Development or Early Childhood Education
  • OR 1 year with AA Degree
  • OR 2 years, otherwise
• AA or BA highly desirable. (Related fields can include: Arts, Early Childhood Education, Education, Humanities, Physical Education, Psychology, Recreation, Sociology and Theater)
• Staff supervision experience in a professional setting is highly desirable
• CPR/AED, and First Aid Certification, must include Adult and Child/Infant, obtained within 30 days of hire and must be from one of the following certifying organizations:
  • American Red Cross
  • American Heart Association
  • American Safety & Health Institute

Pay Range

USD $19.69 - USD $23.63 /Hr.
