Job summary

Paycom - ATS is seeking an Enrichment Instructor for STEM to lead engaging science classes for students from elementary to high school. You will develop lesson plans, facilitate interactive activities, and foster a positive, inclusive learning environment.

The role involves hands-on experiments, progress assessments, and coordination with site coordinators. Travel to assigned school sites may be required and CPR and background checks may be needed.

Responsibilities

• Review curriculum and create lesson plans.
• Facilitate classroom-based lessons and activities for K-12.

• Communicate with Coordinators regarding materials and site specifics.
• Maintain safety and cleanliness of kits and equipment.

Job description

The Enrichment Instructor for STEM will lead engaging and age-appropriate science classes for students of varying subjects ranges between earth sciences, biological sciences, computer science, and chemistry. The Enrichment Instructor will have a strong educational and instructional background in aforementioned disciplines. They must possess the ability to motivate students, and have a commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive, and energetic learning environment.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Review curriculum and create lesson plansFacilitate classroom-based lessons and activities applicable to elementary through high school age rangeMaintain student engagement in course material and redirect unwanted behaviorsMaintain course kits, instruments and equipment and see to cleanliness and functionalityCommunicate regularly with Coordinators regarding course matters including material needs, site specifics and curriculum efficacyProvide structured warm-up and cool-down activitiesPlan and deliver science classes in concepts based on the scientific methodPrepare hands-on projects and experiments that allow students to showcase what they have learnedDevelop student skills that demonstrate understanding and creates a fun and positive learning environmentAssess student progress, provide feedback, and support students in comprehension of scientific conceptsAdapt teaching methods to meet the needs of students with different abilities and experience levelsStay current with trends that are relevant and interesting for a range of student interestsEncourage collaboration among studentsMaintain a safe and supportive classroom environmentMaintain attendance records and participate in staff meetings or training sessions as needed#SD2Education & Experience:Official/unofficial college transcripts that confirm 48+ completed college units (60 units for high school) or a passing score on an academic proficiency examExperience in instructing/teaching, especially with elementary to high school aged studentsAbility to assess and address student challengesAdaptive to communication styles, motivation needs, and different learning needsSchedule flexibility/availability pertinent to after school instruction hours based on the needs of a given course cycleExperience working with youth in diverse communitiesCPR Certification (Adult, Child, and Infant) preferredAdditional Requirements:Negative TB test result and COVID-19 vaccination recordCompletion of Live Scan background checkAvailability to work before/after school hours and someAbility to travel to assigned school sites and to the Arc officePHYSICAL DEMANDSThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
