Job summary

Denver Public Schools is hiring for an after-school enrichment instructor to deliver educational instruction and design engaging OST curricula for 2nd–5th grade students. The role emphasizes equity and best practices in after-school programs.

Employees will align with state standards, prepare assessments, and maintain technology resources. Work hours are Monday through Friday, 2:00–6:00 pm, with competitive pay and district benefits.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or relevant work experience.
  • Two or more years in education and the technology field.
  • Experience working with school age children.
  • Must have a Colorado driver's license and meet driving record requirements.
  • Lead for racial and educational excellence and dismantling inequities in the community.
  • Live and work with a permanent home address in Colorado.

Responsibilities

  • Provides educational instruction in assigned subject/topic areas
  • Designs new enrichment classes in alignment with OST best practices
  • Works to align curriculum with state and school standards
  • Prepares pre and post tests for students and administers on a class basis
  • Evaluates and updates teaching materials as necessary
  • Ensures upkeep and working condition of all computers and updates software
  • Works with site staff on student recruitment and retention
  • Researches and implements current trends in the education field and OST field
  • Hours and Days: Monday - Friday, 2:00 - 6:00pm

About This Job

Implements a variety of enrichment and educational classes at an elementary site, after school for 2nd - 5th grade youth, as well as supports curriculum development, and implements Out of School Time best practices and program evaluation.

What You'll Need
  • Minimum Bachelor's or relevant work experience
  • Two (2) or more years in education and the technology field
  • Experience working with school age children
  • Must have a current and valid Colorado driver's license, meet the District's insurance requirements, and have an acceptable driving record for the past three years
  • Lead for racial and educational excellence and work to dismantle systems of oppression and inequity in our community, along with believing in and supporting all students so they feel seen and heard with access to high quality education.
  • Live and work with a permanent home address in Colorado while working with us.
  • Have the ability with or without accommodations to meet the physical demands of the position.
