Job summary

Citizens of the World Los Angeles is seeking part-time Enrichment Elective Instructors to work at our Regional Support Office in Los Angeles, CA. You will lead after-school sessions in academics, recreation, and STEAM for students from Transitional Kindergarten to 8th grade, delivering engaging, age-appropriate activities over 8–10 weeks.

You will plan 8–10 sessions of 1 to 1.5 hours, maintain a safe learning environment, support social and emotional growth, involve families, and collaborate

• Our Enrichment Elective Instructors will work with students from Transitional Kindergarten to 8th grade.

Responsibilities

• Engage children in after-school electives in academics, recreation, and STEAM.
• Plan 8–10 sessions of 1 to 1.5 hours over 8 to 10 weeks.
• Establish and maintain a safe, healthy learning environment.
• Support social and emotional development of children.
• Encourage family involvement and build rapport with faculty, administrators, parents and volunteers.
• Organize program schedules and collect important data.
• Maintain a positive attitude and ensure student safety during activities.
• Foster positive teacher-student and peer relationships.
• Implement classroom management procedures (training provided).
• Participate in staff meetings and professional development.

Job Details: Job Location: Regional Support Office (RSO) - Los Angeles, CA 90057, Position Type: Part Time, Salary Range: $25.00 - $65.00 Hourly, Our Enrichment Elective Instructors will be working with students from Transitional Kindergarten to 8th grade, providing them with the opportunity to explore a variety of new and exciting activities. This may not strictly fit into in school curriculum, but develops character, resilience, and motivation, and encourage them to pursue wider goals.Our instructors will conduct 1 to 1.5-hour sessions over a period of 8 to 10 weeks, engaging children in fun, interactive, and age-appropriate after-school electives in academics, recreation, and STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math).

Responsibilities

• Engage children in fun, interactive, and age-appropriate after-school electives in academics, recreation, and STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math).
• Plan 8 - 10, 1-hour to 1.5-hour sessions of fun, interactive, and age-appropriate after-school electives in academics, recreation, and STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math).
• Establish and maintain a safe, healthy learning environment;
• Support the social and emotional development of children;
• Encourage the involvement of the families of the children.
• Develop a strong school culture by influencing, motivating, and building rapport with faculty, administrators, parents, and volunteers.
• Flex administrative muscles to organize program schedules, and collect and enter important program data.
• Be highly alert, and focused and take proactive, preventative measures to keep all students safe.
• Develop and maintain positive teacher-student and peer relationships.
• Implement classroom management procedures for all activities and transitions (training provided).
• Active participant in the group, staff, and professional development meetings.
• Maintain day-school classrooms, field, and office equipment in a clean and organized way.
• Communicate, with a respectful and positive attitude in the CWC LA Community.
• Safely use technology/electronic tools/supplies to maintain the quality of all equipment.
• Arrive at scheduled shifts, meetings, and pieces of training on time.
