Electrochem, Valdosta, GA, seeks an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineering Manager to lead the design of batteries and battery systems across rail, aviation, and telecom markets. You will manage a multi-disciplinary team, ensure compliance with ISO 9000, AS9100D, NEC, IEC, IEEE and other standards, and align engineering activities with marketing and sales goals.

Provide mechanical design and engineering management to allow the organization to accomplish its goals & objectives. Responsible to manage all mechanical design engineering of Batteries, and Battery systems, assist in equipment and tooling requirements as necessary in 3 different Industries, Rail, Aviation, and Telecom. All work has to be done in compliance with ISO 9000, APTA, NEC, AS9100D, IEC, IEEE, ASTM, and AWS. Manage and lead Valdosta mechanical engineering team for cells and batteries in Alkaline Engineering department. Familiarity with EN- European standards, Telecordia, and Aviation standards (DO160G, DO-293), OSHA, federal and state regulations is a plus.

A minimum of Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering. Advanced Degree preferred, with atleast 10-15 years of Product design experience in the Aviation, or Rail markets. Must have atleast 5 years of experience leading and managing Mechanical Engineers in the design of batteries and battery systems.
Must have comprehensive design knowledge using Creo, and should be familiar with Windchill PLM systems. Must have knowledge of AWS, ASTM, AS9100D, NEC, IEC, IEEE & APTA standards.
