Job summary

LaPorte Community School Corporation is seeking an ENL Assistant for Hailmann Elementary for the 2026-2027 school year. This 32.5-hour-per-week tutor will work with classroom teachers and the ENL teacher to support students for whom English is a second language.

Bilingual experience and/or knowledge of Spanish is highly desirable, and applicants should have a High School Diploma or GED; two years of college are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Two years of college preferred.
• Bilingual experience or knowledge of Spanish desirable.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement a schedule within the assigned elementary school to work with ENL students.
• Become familiar with the core curriculum for each elementary grade level.
• Utilize ESL strategies to support grade-level skills and ENL curriculum.
• Assist ENL teachers and elementary staff with ENL students.
• Attend meetings and trainings as directed by ENL supervisors and teachers.
