Brief Description

Teach English as a New Language (ENL) in a variety of settings. Co‑teach and/or collaborate with content teachers in ELA, social studies, science, etc. Support English Language Learners (ELLs) in content classes, and advocate for their social and emotional needs. Participate in ongoing curriculum development, which responds to mandates of CR Part 154 and the NYS standards. Exhibit the ability to implement responsive curriculum, create an inclusive classroom, and differentiate instruction in order to engage the learning styles and needs of each student as an individual.

Responsibilities

Co‑teach, collaborate, support ELLs, advocate for social and emotional needs, participate in curriculum development, implement responsive curriculum, create inclusive classroom, and differentiate instruction.

Required Qualifications

• Qualified candidates will demonstrate a basic awareness of the district’s commitment to eliminating race, class, and disability as predictors of academic performance, and a strong willingness to support these efforts.
• All candidates must possess New York State Teacher Certification in English to Speakers of Other Languages or English as a Second Language. Licensed teachers from other states may qualify for reciprocity, but must still apply for New York State Certification.

Salary Range

$56,918–$119,338 (10‑month full‑time basis) based on the 26‑27 ITA step and lane salary grid.
