Job summary

The Ithaca City School District is hiring Secondary Special Education Teachers for Ithaca High School to provide inclusive services to grades 9-12. Responsibilities include IEP development, co-planning and co-teaching, and active participation in PLC and grade-level meetings.

Collaboration with teachers and therapists, plus family communication, is essential. Ideal candidates will have NYS certification in Special Education or Students with Disabilities or eligibility to obtain it.

Qualifications

• Must have basic awareness of district equity commitments and willingness to support them.
• New York State Teacher Certification in Special Education or Students with Disabilities, or eligibility to obtain by start date.
• Reciprocity possible for teachers licensed in other states.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement IEPs for 9-12 grade students in inclusive settings.
• Engage in co-planning and co-teaching with general education and special education staff.
• Participate in PLCs and grade-level team PLC meetings.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and therapists; communicate with families.
• Experience with AAC devices is an asset.

Required Qualifications:

Salary Range: $56,918-$119,338 (10-month full-time basis) Based on the 26-27 ITA step and lane salary grid
