Job summary

The City of Dixon seeks an Enhanced Lateral Police Officer to join its growing Police Department. Officers provide a wide range of generalist law enforcement services across patrol, investigations, canine, traffic enforcement, tactical operations, and crisis negotiations.

This position operates on a rotating 12-hour shift schedule with opportunities for specialization and advancement. A $30,000 hiring incentive is available for qualified applicants.

Qualifications

• Possess an Intermediate POST Training Certificate or higher (Advanced POST preferred).
• Be a California peace officer with a valid POST certification where applicable.
• Spanish language ability is desirable but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide a wide range of generalist police services in Patrol, Investigations, Canine, Traffic, Tactical Operations and Crisis Negotiations.
• Work on a rotating 12-hour shift schedule with opportunities for specialization and advancement.
• Participate in selection process, field training, and probationary requirements.
