Job summary

Matthews International is seeking an Engraving and Embroidery Operator to program and operate engraving and embroidery equipment for personalized caskets. Training will be provided; prior embroidery experience is not required.

This first-shift role offers up to 29 hours per week with a starting pay of $22 per hour. The position involves setting up and operating laser engraving and embroidery machines, inspecting designs, and maintaining quality on exterior and interior panels in a fast-paced

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Embroidery operation experience preferred.
• Proficient in MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications; SAP experience preferred.
• Ability to work autonomously and in a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to work overtime as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Operate laser engraving machine for personalized engravings on exterior of caskets using automated programming (training provided).
• Set up casket and engraving machine in correct position for engraving process.
• Manually inspect engraving design after engraving process.
• Operate embroidery machines to create customized memorial panels for the interior.
• Work with fabrics, automated embroidery machine, staple gun, glue gun and cardboard mounts.
• Cut excess trim from cardboard mounts to size as required.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Job description

The Engraving and Embroidery Operator at Matthews International is responsible for programming and operating specialized equipment to personalize caskets with precision and care. This includes programming engraving machines for exterior designs and embroidery machines for interior panel customization. No prior embroidery experience is required, as detailed training will be provided. This role combines technical skills and creativity to deliver high-quality, meaningful products that meet customer specifications and uphold our reputation for excellence. Work Schedule: First Shift. Weekly Hours: Up to 29 Hours a week. Starting Pay: $22

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operate Laser Engraving machine for Personalized engravings on exterior of caskets using automated computer programming and equipment (will train on computer program).
• Set up casket and Engraving machine in proper position for engraving process.
• Manually inspect engraving design after engraving process.
• Operates Embroidery machines to create customized memorial panels for casket interior.
• Will work with Fabrics, Automated embroidery machine, staple gun, glue gun and cardboard mount.
• Responsible for cutting excess trim from cardboard mount to required size.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.
• Previous embroidery operation experience preferred.
• Basic degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications, SAP Experience strongly preferred.
• Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
• Ability to work overtime as necessary.
