Tidewater Community College in Chesapeake is seeking a part-time English Tutor to support student success at 15 hours per week. You will meet with students one-to-one or in small groups to assist English and writing assignments and help with basic computer literacy and Canvas navigation.
Work closely with instructors, participate in tutor trainings, and uphold FERPA confidentiality while delivering patient, empathetic guidance to diverse learners.

Tutors provide academic support to increase student academic achievement by meeting with students to clarify learning objectives and outcomes and work on study skills. Tutors serve as a supplement to classroom or online teaching. Tutors assist faculty, deans, and the Learning Assistance Supervisor in supporting the student success initiatives of Tidewater Community College.
