As an English Teacher, you will promote a love of literature and lifelong learning by guiding students through close reading practices that deepen their understanding of how texts work. You will help students develop the ability to make inferences, analyze author’s craft, and engage critically with diverse voices and genres. By thoughtfully mentoring and coaching, you will support students throughout the writing process—from brainstorming and drafting to revising and polishing their work. The classroom will be a space where students share writing with peers, offering and receiving constructive feedback.
Lead classes, small groups, and one‑to‑one conferences, providing actionable feedback that supports students’ academic and personal growth. Mentor students through the writing process, fostering collaborative peer feedback. Embrace multimodal composition—including podcasts, digital storytelling, visual essays, and other creative forms. Integrate technology and AI thoughtfully to help students explore ideas, analyze texts, and develop voices responsibly. Co‑construct a classroom culture rooted in curiosity, belonging, and respect, and build strong partnerships with students and families to ensure each learner thrives.
You are an experienced language and literacy educator with a proven ability to mentor developing readers and writers through authentic and varied instructional approaches. You integrate technology and AI thoughtfully to enhance learning and foster creativity. You understand—or are eager to learn—the unique demands facing student‑athletes, supporting them in achieving balance and resilience. You take ownership of student success, embody humility, and actively seek feedback to refine your practice. You are committed to lifelong learning, innovation, and to advancing student growth with sound judgment, adaptability, and curiosity.
