Job summary

Menlo Circus Club in Atherton, California, seeks a Riding Instructor to teach horsemanship and safety to riders of all ages under the Lead Riding Instructor. You will work with school horses, ride inside and outside, and support camps and events.

Qualifications

• Excellent horsemanship and English riding skills.
• Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to be patient and kind while working with children.
• Proficient in Equine first-aid.

Responsibilities

• Teaches beginner through intermediate riders in the English style, giving constructive feedback.
• Schedules lessons and handles inquiries; keeps clients informed.
• Sets jump courses as needed to accommodate individual students.
• Promotes safety, kind handling of horses, and teamwork; adheres to USEF Safe Sport rules.
• Reports accidents or injuries to Lead Riding Instructor or Equestrian Operations Manager.
• Plans, organizes, and runs camps and equestrian events; tracks lessons and billing.
• Keeps tack clean and maintains tack room orderly.
• Rides and trains school horses as needed.
• Assists during veterinary and farrier appointments as needed.
