Work Location: Remote/Work-from-home within the United States

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday; 40 hours weekly

Engagement Model: Temporary employment; Full-time

Language Needed: US English

Estimated Start Date: April/May 2025

Estimated End Date: End of June 2025

Hourly rate: $23.00 USD

DataForce by TransPerfect is seeking a Linguist with idiomatic fluency in US English to join our team in the United States! This is an exciting opportunity to be part of an innovative Artificial Intelligence project!

Role Summary

As a Linguist, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the capabilities of AI-driven speech recognition and generation assistants. The ideal candidate has a linguistic education background, great attention to detail, the ability to work independently, and possess enthusiasm for improving AI technology.

Role Responsibilities

In this role, you will listen to short US English audio recordings and review, correct, refine, and/or expand pre-annotated descriptions/labels to accurately reflect voice characteristics and speech delivery.

Role Requirements

  • Idiomatic fluency in US English
  • Degree in linguistics or related field (phonetics, phonology, speech pathology, etc.)
  • Phonetics/phonology expertise is preferred
  • Relevant experience in data analysis, labeling, speech/text-to-speech technology, and/or audio annotation is considered a plus
  • Familiarity with online annotation tools is preferred
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines effectively
  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to deliver error-free work
  • Availability to work 40 hours per week
  • Interest in language technologies
