Aboutthe role:

Asan English Language Teacher at Dynaspeak, you will play a vital role insupporting domestic learners—many of whom are migrants and former refugees—byhelping them build the language skills they need to thrive in Aotearoa NewZealand. This role goes beyond teaching; it’s about fostering belonging,building trust, and empowering learners to participate fully in theircommunities.

Youwill deliver engaging, learner-centred instruction in both classroom and onlinesettings, using innovative and inclusive teaching practices. Yourresponsibilities will include lesson planning, delivery, assessment, andreporting, all while maintaining a strong focus on pastoral care and learnerwellbeing.

  • Empatheticand culturally responsive,with a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by migrant andrefugee learners.
  • Collaborativeand community-minded,able to work effectively within a supportive academic team.
  • Self-motivatedand adaptable, withthe flexibility to teach across multiple Auckland sites and provide reliefteaching when needed.
  • Passionateabout education as a tool for empowerment and social inclusion.

Thisrole is distinct from teaching international students—it requires a heart forservice, a commitment to equity, and a genuine desire to make a difference inpeople’s lives.

Aboutyou:

Weare looking for someone who has the following:

  • The minimumrequirementis an internationally recognised teaching qualification, such as CELTA,Trinity Certificate in TESOL or equivalent.
  • Eithercurrently hold or be in the process of obtaining the National Certificatein Adult Literacy and Numeracy Education (NCALNE).
  • Atleast two years teaching in an ESOL environment.
  • Experienceteaching NZCEL programmes and/or English for any structured qualificationswould be desirable.
  • Proficiencyin the use of Microsoft suite, in particular, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Familiaritywith the internet and email usage is essential.

Asa kaupapa Māori organisation, your willingness to participate in culturalactivities and develop an understanding of Āhuatanga Māori (values, culture andtikanga) is desirable.
